Does anybody know this Cobalt SS?
yea 20psi by 2nd gear for sure possibly spiking 21 or 22. i do dig runs but never really last long in 1st gear but im almost certain our cars stock are not suppose to be buildin much boost outta 1st gear (unless tuned) i think i get mine up to maybe 4-5 psi in a 1st gear romp but normally the needle in the boost guage is jus flickin around the vacuum side with your throttle input. ( as if you were jus creepin around a parking lot )
the GMS1 does use Bosch sensors, but they are replacement MAP sensors;
MAP = Manifold Air Pressure
they are on the intake, and hot side charge pipes;
the intake one would befront and center ~ just open the hood, the sensor with the horizontal plug right infront of you would either be one of these two;
stock upper and lower MAP ~ the one on the left is the intake manifold one

GMS1 MAP (both the same)

Stock the cars are rated for 15lbs - GMS1 they are rated for 21lbs ~ but depending on the conditions, you could see slightly higher boost than they're rated for...
nuff said?
I believe there is a TAG ontop the transmission - infront of your oil cooler that shows the RPO: G85 ~ otherwise, it's easiest to look on your car's RPO sticker - lift your trunk mat ~ it's a large silver sticker on the trunk floor roughly inforont of the sub.
I have come to understand that the 2005-2006 Cobalt SS/SC combined the limited slip and recaro option, while the 2007 model year saw the two items separated...
for example, a buddy has a 2007 non-Recaro SS/SC w/G85
They are somewhat similar ~ but are vastly different...
Recaro

SS/TC

Seat foams are different, head rests are different, lumbar is different, material used is different...
2005-2007 Recaro equipped cars had rear seats with perforated seat inserts ~ with bright stitching along the endges ~ the 2008-2010 SS/TC used back seats which mimicked the front seats...
