Ok so today before i went and met up with MTX, my drivers side door would not open! Now my passanger side was ok, no problems there! I couldnt open my drivers door from the outside or inside and finally after about 10 min of unlocking, locking and pushing and pulling it finally gave in and let me open it. I heard this is a chronic problem with our cars, so what exactly is the problem? and how do you fix it without going to the dealership? my extended warranty has a $100 deductible, and i doubt this costs over $100 to fix.....help?

 

jeezus... really??? i havent heard of the lock prob yet.. sure it wasnt ice on the locks?

 

the problem is when you pull the door handle before unlocking the door, the latch doesnt fully return. if you pull on the outside handle and let go real quickly it can make it work, same with banging on the back of the door pannel. my car was at gm for this problem, all they did was spray some wd40 into the handle (and down the side of the door) and 3 days later it did it again. ive seen a foix were a guy pulled the door pannel and put a return spring on the latch.

 

nope it wasnt that cold, prolly around 45-50 degrees outside....

yea i did everything but kick my car...i was mighty close to doing that too.

 

You have to unlock it for it to come open

sounds like the lock is not unlocking all the way it might be getting stuck or you wore it out

 

hmmmm hopefully no dealership stops...
