Hood spacers
Sure why not, and i wasnt gonna flame you btw i was just saying if you read all 14 pages somone will lol i dont beleive in being tough on the interwebz, and if i did i ploberly would of gotton banned by now cuz i gets bored alot haha
let me just leave this quote here
"Propping the hood did lower temperatures. By Earth-shattering amounts? No. But temps did drop an average of 13.5 degrees Fahrenheit all around, especially during stop-and-go traffic and highway driving."
sooo....if you want to lower your temps 13.5 degrees in traffic, prop your hood. But why are you worrying about 13.5 degrees in your driving around the streets or in traffic anyways. dumb mod. Our intake isnt anywhere near the heat generated by the turbo so i cant see us benifiting anywhere near as much with this mod. Our intake pipes travel across the engine and go underneath the headlight, well thats for somet people and the way the GM engineers designed it. Some of you like your intake filter sitting next to your valve cover
maybe you guys can benifit from this then
*makes loser sign with hands*

Its like a short beer bong...for rain water, a direct line to your turbo. Horray flooded intake and hydrolocked motor!
nah the naca duct wont be inline with the turbo. It will just feed fresh air into a the pass of the engine bay with most likely some sort of water baffle. And my car is not my daily
NACA is the way to go. It's the most efficient shaped scoop (from a flow, flow disturbance, and drag standpoint) you can get... hence the name... (NACA later became part of what is today NASA... and I'm talking the rocket scientists, not the car club).

My opinion...
I have to admit it was cool back in 2004 when people thought it worked but depending on the aerodynamics of the individual car it may not provide any cooling effect.
I am undecided on this mod since some of my friends have it(on 240's, rx7's, civics, evos, ect.) and it seems to look right on their cars although I dont see it looking right on a Cobalt.

okay, i'm not on either side, but i have a question if someone can verify with me. so if it works like a cowl induction hood, drawing air into the engine bay when its on high speed. wouldn't it be good for our T/C? since the turbo, exhaust manifold is all in front of the firewall?

i did min pretty subtle, but my camera sucks so when i took more zoomed out pics you couldn't notice it.

just some rubber spacers i found in the tool box.

as far as temp differences honestly i can't notice any.
honestly i probably would not have even done this mod if the thread didn't grow so much aha. the OP was just something that came off the top of my head.
