Hood spacers
^ that's what people say about putting vortex generators on a car that isn't an evo that comes with them.....if you don't wanna do it to your car fine but i think we get that you think it's stupid, and we think some things you do are stupid, you know, one of those things you just accept and move on. i don't see any riced to **** cars in here so should be all good. the blue one looks dumb with rubber spacers silver one looks a lot better but lol.

Its a ****** FWD 200+hp chevy cobalt that doesnt need these stupid hood spacers to keep ur under hood temps right when ur idling. Its retarted. remove them and have ur car run like a normal human being. I hope honda guy's laugh at ufor going "wtf its a cobalt with hood spacers. hahaha"

I think I'll just let the thermstat do it's job. I haven't had any overheat problems yet on road courses or drag strips. If you want to lower engine temps the thermostat is where you have to start. The stock one is, I believe, 198. I've had the temp go ALL THE WAY up to 201. The thermostat opens and down it comes. This STTUPID idea will lower UNDERHOOD temps but the THERMOSTAT will maintain ENGINE temps at close to 198.
honestly, besides looking pretty sweet, it's completely functional just like my 3M window weld filled motor mounts. All you retards pay for poly inserts or solid mounts.....I got something just as good for $12

im shocked that people flamed this thread this bad, no one flamed the guy that put 7g into a body kit that doesnt fit and a new paint job, oh and the body kit has huge gaps in it and its got big nasty fender flairs and gay wheels i think hes going for cotm everyone talking **** in this thread needs to aim the flames at the big gay body kit guy
no it does not work. Lifting the back of the hood allows the air hitting the base of the windshield to go back into the engine adding to the issue of underhood heat. It does NOT allow air out. Cowl induction worked because it lets air IN . not out...
Yeah...........it lets COOL air in that would normally pass over the car thus COOLING down your engine bay

but yeah seriously, i kinda kept this going as a joke. some people in this thread got real upset about some washers. and it's not like i'm arguing their function. i have them for pure style, does that make me a ricer..absolutely f>f
i dont see the big deal, my point was, there are way worse things to do, another example, people asking about 20" rims and lowering springs, IMO its pointles might as well throw 24s on it, did everyone get pissed and flame them, not really, the big gay body kit guy? not really, this is small potatoes compared to other **** ppl do on here and there was some serious flaming here, i would like to see this flaming pointed in the right direction, big gay body kit guy is going for cotm start flaming him please, he spent 7 grand on the body kit and paint, this is very small compared to that

What I can't wrap my mind around is why you felt the need to bump a dead thread. The only explanation is that you're trying to start **** because you want to be the center of attention, even if it's negative, to make you feel important because you probably are overlooked by the popular crowd in school. I picture you as a douchebag teenager who cares way to much about fitting in with his douchebaggier group of JDM friends(all of whom probably fail epically and shame the entire JDM scene). While you're trying to be different in the Cobalt community youre also trying to be exactly the same in theirs in hopes that someone will accept you. What's wrong? Mommy and daddy don't give you enough attention?



Alright, heres the deal. This ENTIRE thread just turned around. It was started because gay fairy hood spacers were supposed to be cheap "mod" to lower ur underhood temps by a WOPPING 5 degrees by letting heat escape from ur motor. It was stated it was for FUNCTION OVER FORM. It didnt look good, wich we can clearly see it looks like complete ass, but ur were gonna possibly gain a wopping .329hp out of it all while getting laughed at for looking like ur car has frame damage from a head on collision.
It does not look sweet, Quick stated it does not even function properly, and to compensate for the entire lineup of people who look and thought it was cheesy as hell because you put shitty cheap hood spacers to ruin the look of a car that costs 20+ thousand dollars is rediculous, u now made friends with a couple Honda guys who think ur so baller for putting washers under ur hood and accomplishing NOTHING.
Wanna know how to get more "cold" air under ur hood. Press the gas pedal. U have a bunch of holes in ur front bumper, believe its called a grill? and its meant for air to pass through to make its way into ur engine bay. U also have a.......wtf is it called? A fan? to blow air through ur radiator and into ur engine bay? Yea I think thats right.
