i think this is the coolest thing on earth! i have this mod on my ford explorer and it cost me nothing! all i did was have to run into a deer and he did it for me! he also widened my fender gaps to allow for more airflow!

Hey man. The hood spacer mod is awesome, right? It sounds like you got a sweet deal with hitting that deer. It's almost as awesome as running a cutout on a supercharged car that's obviously pushing assloads of horsepower. Yeah man! It not like supercharged car run better with more back pressure or anything! And I'm sure that 3" dp into a 2.5" catback does wonders for power.

Moral of this story: shut your mouth cause you do **** that sounds retarded too. At least what I did actually helps my car

sooooo, your saying a supercharged car runs better with backpressure, but that a 3 inch downpipe into a 2.5 exhaust isnt going to create , what is it, backpressure?
is that right?

Did anyone actually test to see if this works? As in seeing if their engine temps were lower? I can see maybe doing this for track days or something. But if you ride around all the time like this, you deserve to get laughed at.

it's been proven to drop underhood temps to at least 5-7 degrees. but as far as IAT's it doesn't help at all.

I just posted earlier that I did a before and after and after an equal amount of driving, my engine bay was ~20* cooler with the hood spaced

I couldn't measure my IATs but I'm assuming that since I measured the temps around the sc, the heat soak into the h/e, radiator, intake pipe and manifold were all less. Especially since the air is flowing now and not just sitting there so 20* cooler could result in much more heat loss on the metals of the car

I'll measure IATs and let you know

my cut out netted me 4whp at the wheels which is a **** ton more then your washers did and back pressure is only good for tq. the less back pressure the more hp the more backpressure the more tq. and the 3in cut out is on the 3in dp, just so you understand. next time do research, it helps.

moral of the story: dont be stupid by not doing reasearch.
