Well I disconnected my battery to install some power adding and air adding mods to my car. The only thing I lost was the clock all of my radio stations were saved. I thought that was weird but that is what went down..........

same thing happened to me when i installed my SRI.....i found that odd also
I think the radio has memory in it. So it retains that information. A clock setting is real time and would only be stored in a RAM fashion meaning that when the car loses power completely that information would be lost. That is my theory.

when i had my battery disconnected for a whole day while i was doing my audio soundproofing, my radio stations got erased
one time, when i pulled the battery terminal off to install my capacitor, the radio kept, because the terminal was only off for a few seconds
what you could do, would be to find the power wire, after it splits off for the radio and dash functions...

Down here the thugs are going out into the county suburbs and jacking cars. my x's parents had their 1991 ford econoline van stolen from Chesterfield with all their x mass presents in it. turned up on the other side of the river (30 miles) without an engine and seats.
so even owning a shity car in a nice neighborhood you are still screwed.
I'd say go for the starter and or clutch. also, if it exists a hiden camera that records when the car is moved without a key in the ignition; to catch the thug and find out where the car is goin.
good luck.

I like the clutch idea, i have not ever looked into that....
I tell you, the little compartment where the trunk release is, it is a perfect spot for a switch.... It is where i have my switches(for lighted pedals and also some neons inside)
the reason i say it is a good spot is that it is actualy even hard for people who i tell where them where the switch is to find them....
also, if you are really good with electronics, you can place a reed switch on a delay anywhere you would like in your vehicle, so you can have a small magnet on your key chain, and when you place it in a spot, (even on the outside of the car).... you have a certain amount of time to start your car, after that it wont work..... thing is, yea i like never do it, but it can happen to anyone if they get too distracted..... but if you happen to stal your car, and you are in trafic, you are screwed.....
does anyone happen to know a little more about this clutch switch?
