I have another thread out there about how this happened, but I figured with this title, I'll get betting info. My fuel tank has a hole in it, and the dealership wants over 800$ to fix it. So I am just going to do it myself. I found a fuel tank on Ebay for 45$ from a 06 sedan. Now the questions it have are

1. Im assuming the fuel tanks are the same? I need someone to confirm.

Now those instructions seem very vague, and I know next to nothing about cars. Someone here at work said the fuel pump is most likely inside the tank? Is that correct? And If it is, how do I take it out?

And any tips are welcomed, I really need the help! I'm really hoping someone has done this..

Is there really nobody thats had to take out the gas tank?

 

yes the fuel pump is in the tank.. i haven't changed one in a balt but i have put thousands in impalas and other GM cars.. the worst part is the line conections they are a pain in the butt to get undone somtimes ..i am not sure about the balt but most other gm tanks there is a metal ring on the top of the tank that you have to turn to get in at the pump.. but i am not 100% about the balt tank tho...
