I tend to lean towards the same, never really cared when they do not match unless going with yellow and even that depends.

I've got halogen's in my fog lights, said 2500k on the box. I'd go with 3k HIDs.

I'd go with 8k or 10k.

3k. Make your fog lights actually serve a purpose. The yellow cuts through fog better than any other temperature.

Yellow fogs are functional.

Depends on how well you want fog lights to do their job. Yellow will cut fog and whatnot much better than a white or blueish white hue. Of course I'm a functionality over form kind of guy.

I personally have 5000k headlights and Nokya hyper yellow halogen bulbs for my fog lights. Reason I went yellow fog lights is I try to keep a clean OEM look about my car and no car comes standard with HID fog lights (at least not to my knowledge).
