Paint Codes?
I am doing a little bit of work on my new cobalt and have decided to paint a few areas of the car that are usually untouched by the standard moder. I have had some problem locating the paint code for 2006 victory red. I have looked everywhere on the car and can't find it? I have not called the dealership because they are closed and my car is being painted tommorrow? Anyone know the code. The vin sticker with all the info has been removed from my car.
Just got back from the paint shop today and they siad to paint it was impossible. I guess that is why no one has painted these parts. I am also looking for a good place to get SS emblem floor mats. They need to look clean and crisp. I have seen a few and the color combos look a little rice
What parts of the car are you trying to paint? Odd of a body shop to say it was impossible to paint them. Also, ggbailey.com is where to go for floor mats. They have done some nice stuff from what I've seen on here. I also think, RKSport (rksport.com) does floor mats as well.
The paint code is in the trunk. Remove the spare tire cover and on the underside of it, there will be a sticker with the paint code. Get the number that follow BC/CC. I manage a paint and body shop.
I wanted the engine cover and the fuse cover painted. Due to the texture and heat they said that it would crack very easy and not to bother. I have seen a couple of high end cars done and it looks realy good...But i quess their cars aren't made of plastic..Oh well. More money for **** to go faster.

ummm... there's lots of people that did this... and it will not crack... i used a 3 dollar can of spraypaint, not even high temp, and it's been on there for a good 6 months and 15,000 miles... i've put in some long trips too... it doesn't get too hot either, that's bs... i drove for about 300 miles today and felt the covers and you could easily rest your hands on them without taking them off...
True... the engine covers don't get hot. I've taken mine off when I just got done driving 27 miles on the freeway. I've felt the body panels of cars alot hotter than that. (I used to work for Avis car rental in Houston during summer. I know hot)
Good 2 know. When you painted them did you sand them first to get them smooth or did you just paint the texture right on there. I think I want to have it nice and shiny so I will have to sand them down a lot

I've been doing quite a bit of research for my own cobalt recently. I'm VERY familiar with where to find the info lol.
