I just went to my dealership to get some touch-up paint so I can fix a few chips I have from rocks hitting my hood.

Anyways, I have a blue granite color, atleast thats what I was told when I bought it. The parts person looked up my vin number and gave me a stealth grey color for the touch up paint.

Well it looks really similar, I just want to know if anyone actually can tell me if they are the same thing. Maybe GM switched the names, or if I need to go back to the dealer and get the right one.

Go back and have them get you the right one. GM didn't switch the names, in fact, they don't even offer the 'balt in Granite Blue any more.

 

I get that here all the time. What GM themselves or the salesman call certain colors, is different in our catalogs. As long as the WA number on the tube of paint and the GM code (usually a number ending in the letter "U") are the same as what's on your options label or computer from your VIN, it should be the right color.

Here's a copy/paste of the numbers in the catalog for paint. Some of the names here may be different than what was on the window sticker or at the dealership. Sorry for the mess. Doesn't copy/paste too good on this.

first is the GM part number, the body code( A for Cobalt), The GM paint color, description, the catalogs description of color, and the most inportant WA color code, year range used, and last part I have no idea what that is. lol

hmm well they dont have granite blue listed... so I would assume that the stealth grey is the right one then
