Painting Intake/Charge Pipe

I have a K&N short ram and ZZP charge pipe, the flate black look is to bland for me and I want a color that pops. Does anyone have any pics of their pipes painted? I wanna know if the paint turns out good/holds up. I wanna see before I spend the money to get them powder coated. Thanks!!

I used 120 grit to sand it down

Then i put 3 coats of engine enamel primer, metallic red paint, and clear. turned out great

the K&n is next!!

Painting will be cheaper and will last a while if done right. Prepping is key no doubt.

Get aircraft paint remover in the gel form. It'll do wonders. Use a brush and some gloves when using it. Brush it on one way and let it sit. Don't go over it once you brush it on. Give it 15-20 minutes and wash it off. Repeat until you get it to where you desired.

Or just paint over both. They have a very similar texture

Material compatibility, always check when the solution requires gloves

You must not have read my post about the aircraft paint remover. That stuff will eat anything off. I've already removed Powdercoating from numerous pipes with it. Does wonders.

Never tried it, just know someone near me had theirs re-powder coated and they had a hell of a time getting the zzp coating off

Just FYI the paint stripper will eat through some plastics, it really burns, wash it off immediately.

Best stuff I've used is this

I've tried other stuff and it's not as strong, use a promo code I got a gallon for $26 from Advance.
