Replacement Bulbs!!

I am waiting for a set of NOKYA 7000K replacement bulbs to arrive and was wondering if the factory harness will handle the wattage difference of these bulbs compared to factory bulbs. The wattage for these is 100w/80w.

I've been running Nokya 8500K bulbs at 110w/100w for the past several months... no problems here at all.

7000K should be blue/whitish. I believe 5000-6000K range is actually a blue color. My 8500K are called "Arctic Purple" and believe me... they actually do have a purple tinge to them... I'll have to post up some pics sometime. Never seen anything like them in any other street car. They run a higher color temperature and are also of a higher wattage than the stockers, or even the 7000K's that you ordered.

Higher wattage = brighter... though it can melt your wiring harness if it's too high. So far no problems, and I've taken a few trips at night that are over 1 hour with them on.

What can I say... every car's different. IF my bulbs ever fry the harness... I'll just pop the stockers back in (kept them) and drive to the dealership.

I believe the Cavaliers had problems with aftermarket bulbs frying the harness... b/c the way the wiring was run. I would hope ours is a bit better than that.

Fords I know are notorious for that though. Especially the Rangers.
