V6 mustangs aren't that quick. a guy that i work with has an '06 V6 stang with the "pony package" which is cams and a tune, an intake and his muffler removed (sounds like ass). i raced him the other day when we got off work cuz he was always talkin **** about my '07 2.4 SS. we had gone about 3/4 of a mile on the hignway when we quit and he had pulled about two feet of his hood in front of me in that time; not really that impressive for a mustang. my SS is bone stock. he was pretty pissed off and made a lot of excuses the next day before he just admitted that my 2.4 had done pretty damn good.
Stock for stock, A 2.4l SS will be faster. I don't care what Ford fanboi gets on here next spouting numbers says about it. A stock SS/NA will be faster than a V6 mustang from that model.
Keep in mind though that you are dealing with an almost decade old car. vs. your brand new one. Some wear and tear has to be factored in.
Also those mustangs have about ten million aftermarket parts for them. They are easy and cheap to mod. Be careful about which ones you pick a fight with.
What I want to see is more 06' ss/na vs 06' Mustang v6 races. Magazine racers give it to the Ford, but I've heard different.
