SS/TC: will it help or hurt the Cobalt community..
Alrighty, here is the question. What do you think will happen to the Cobalt SS community after the SS Turbo is released. Will there be an influx of douche bag's like the SRT-4 community? Will it stay the same? Let's hear it.
A) There will be a TON of new douche bag owners driving around in SS/TC's by this time next year.
B) The community will stay the same with a broad spectrum of owners from the cool folks all the way to the dipsh*t's.
C) The Cobalt might actually gain some much needed respect from people who would normally overlook a domestic sport compact and it might make us ALL look cool!
D) I'm just here for the free cake.

quite a post for only having 15 prior. usually only people who participate in forums actually give a damn about them. the ss/tc will be as fast as a stg2 cobalt MAYBE. their turbo is maxxed from factory.
There will be a much younger crowd drawn toward it, but remember, its still not exactly a cheap car. It will def. gain the balt some rep in the car world, because from the initial appearances, it has the potential to be an absolute beast.
Hopefully there are some parts that are interchangeable between the ss/sc and the ss/tc, because if the average spectrum of cobalt drivers dips into the 16-17yr. old age, we are gonna be able to get parts from salvage yards for DIRT cheap.
Well if a bunch of young kids younger then me buy this car, i hope there responisible enough to drive safe and treat the car with respect and not drive like they own the road.
haha damn right. is this RWD or FWD?

The Cobalt SS/SC already gave us a huge leap forward in cred. I have worked many shows for GM over the years. Before the SS/SC, I never had people with Hondas and such show anything but discust for GM products. The last show I worked, I was amazed at what I consider a Halo car did for the GM tuner segment. Prelude owners actaully came to the GM section in search of the car. SOme even displaying the same face my wife gets when she stares at a jewelery store window.
The turbo, as long as it performs, will do nothing but up the ante.

I think it will gain more respect from other enthusiast, but most likely start more and more fights about what type of Cobalt a person has.
Its looking like the number of d-bags is already pretty high in this community.

I know a lot of guys with very serious cars; the type of people that think nothing of pumping 90% of their income into their car. Think of that what you will, but whenever I talked about Cobalt's they always had the same reaction; "why the hell didn't GM go turbo." Now I realize there are plenty of reasons why GM went with the s/c, but most of the very knowledgable people I talked to felt that GM was really limiting the performance potential of the SS by going s/c and not t/c. The t/c Cobalt is going to gain us a great deal of credibility in the car world at large, however within our own community... I can already see the s/c vs. t/c flame wars beginning. Let's face it the t/c balts will be putting down 260/260 stock whereas only Stage 2+ s/c cars can hit those kinds of numbers. One day a new t/c owner is going to post about how his stock SS beat a modded SS S/C and from there on out its going to get very ugly.
One thing I am looking forward to though is seeing the turbo swapped LSJ's competing with the LNF's.

To be honest noone doubted the ss/sc cobalt but they doubted the craftsmenship that went into the car when compared to the competition. The ss/tc will likely pull more people into the cobalt and probably A LOT more ass hats that will think the ss/tc is god's gift to man. I think the ss/tc will have great potential but in the end what people have already done with the ss/sc in such a short amount of time is more impressive than what the ss/tc will do when it makes its first debut. On top of all that most people are getting close to paying off their ss/sc's and we all know what happens when your wallet is relieved of monthly payments.
