i'm not disagreeing... but we did look at the blown up view... and it would be doable...
but, for the cost, effort, and the risk factor... there isn't any real reason to.
even if you were road racing, it would be better to just beef up the brakes already there, and if you need even more, you probably need more car.

But I agree, not really any reason to completely swap. Hell, if you keep the drums at least your e-brake will work properly!

First one is stock for stock, second was my stock vs him on the 75hp dry shot, and the last one is my fastest stock time beating his stick fastest stock time

im in calgary, alberta and actually 16.6 is right around par for the 2.4L SS/NA up here. if i were to run down there i would probably be mid to high 15's just due to elevation drop and not to mention this was my first year to drag race the first night i went out i couldn't get below 16.9 and then the second night i went out i couldn't get below 17 seconds. but ya i know that my time is around par.
ya thats really slow for the 2.2 they should be up here anyways around 17.5 which would put them at about 16.5 down there stock. somebody needs some more practice i think. and with mine i've been experimenting with a few differen't launch techniques and this winter im gonna be doing the exhaust, intake and poly mounts as the wheel hop is a bitch in my car.
those slips brought my comfidence back, cuz i was pissed that i could only run a 16.5174 at the track, when the car was estimated at 16.3...now i see 16.7 and 16.8, i feel better...i thought my car was just a bit slower than the rest
this was my first time on the drag strip. all i did was step on the gas and go. i want to hit the track again because now i hold the brake and hold the gas at 2200 rpms and then just dump the break. im interested in seeing how that works if it will make a difference at all, but i doubt it
talk to delta 2.2 on here. he has exhaust intake, headers and thats about it done to his car and he runs a 15.3 with his 2.2 up in michigan. he can help you out
i cant wait to get back to VA. im on deployment right now.
I now have forged internals w/ 8.9:1 pistons. stage 1 cams. 3 angle valve job on the head. head studs. cometic head gasket. B&M shiftplus shift improver. poly trany mounts. 125hp 2 stage nitrous system. and the AEM fuel/ignition controller. right when i get back ill have the STS remote mount turbo installed and the Venom 2.2 ecotec intake manifold

ya the only thing i figured out is if i launch at 3000rpm the way that i've been launching i get 17 second runs but if i launch at 4000rpm and drop the clutch then i get the 16.6 runs but i get mad wheel hop and i usually squeel the tires into second so im gonna work on a better launch and try not to spin going into second as im losing too much time in those area's if i get those 2 area's perfected i should be running really low 16's stock if not into the high 15's
and wow someone loves their mod's lol

I didn't relaize this. This is offtopic but could the 2.4 SS auto trans be swapped into a 2.2 auto? I know it'd cost way more than its worth. I'm just curious if it could be done. Is the trans physically different or is the tune just better?
