Stage 2 0-60
Can we wrap this up by making agreement upon the following: SRT-4's are good for a straight-line, ball-bustin acceleration with lots of potential to smoke even the fastest of cars. Cobalts are a good all around car, a good amount in all aspects of the vehicle, which has remained to be very important with Chevy's sports cars and "tuner" vehicles for a very long time. Corvette's and Vipers have the same argument as you guys do. Viper's are faster straight line, Vette's are faster in the curves. (Up until the new 06' Z06 the argument actually had grounds) Which is better? The one that fits your driving habits is the best car you can have. I like both fast and agile vehicles, and I believe both assests are what decides whether or not the car is high performance. Not everyone believes that 0-60 and 1/4 mile times are the "important" factors in a cars performance. Go to Europe with that mindset and you'll be the laughing stock of the tuner society. Other people value other things. I would buy the Cobalt SS/SC over the SRT-4 because it IS in production and it does have a good balance of acceleration/handling/style along with the fact that it is the cheapest amongst it's competitors. Someone else might say differently, because other people have other values. Let's set this SS/SC vs. SRT-4 discussion aside before it turns into flaming arguments. Everyone can have faster cars with enough money spent. Period. I could make a Tercel faster than an SRT-4, 6, 8, or 10 if I wanted to spend 20 grand on the build. Obviously, I not going to do that.
What the hell is up with this crap between srt and cobalt. I am like d**n. I ain't all that happy my stock cobalt can't beat a stock srt, but who the hell cares.
Oh comon. Leave the damn neons/srts alone. They are worthy cars because of there speed. I am proud to be an owner of an cobalt but i wouldn't mind trading for an srt for a week.
I probably am going to get flamed but i don't care. Some of yall need to grow up.
Every d**n time i start a topic some car other than a cobalt, that car gets flamed. I don't mind comparisons but telling someone that their car sucks based on speed is stupid.

it's stupid to argue about looks and options that comes with "your" car. you bought your car for a reason, as long as you are happy with it, who gives a **** if it is a neon, ss, or another option!

Heh... lets point out some other things shall we.
In an SRT-4 that you bought new. Then slapped Dodges stage 3 on it. If for some reason it has a mechanical failure and blows the motor. Will Dodge contractually have to fix it?
Due to a coworkers expirence = nope so sorry charlie.
Cobalt SS/SC.. fixed under warranty.
That right there that singular reason is why I went Cobalt SS/SC.. than and youn try to find an 06 SRT-4

really blah blah blah...
i just don't enjoy reading posts when people are trying to make "their" car better than someone elses. i think its pretty sweet that the srt4 and the ss are on similar ground. If i were to compare/race a stock to stock i would say choose to compare it to the srt4...
yeah so people think the srt4 is a bit on the ugly side...but really, it's just your taste
aside from that its pretty comparible...srt4 is a bit faster, and the ss has better handling. you buy the car that fits you...period.

just out of curiosity....i notice lots of people like to say "the srt is a bit faster"
and yet....on promotional track runs by the MANUFACTURERS THEMSELVES
BOTH vehicles drove a 14.1
interesting.
and all that aside......please try and remember that were both domestics.
were on the same side goofs
go out there and burn some rice and enjoy the fact that we can buy domestic power that can comfortably do it. Dodge and GM alike.

Oh yeah, I dont think he mentioned anything about a warranty in that question.
This is too much like comparing a Camaro, Mustang, and SRT8 the SRT8 is just not comparable in price, so most magazines (Motortrend) use the R/T which is killed by both. I love Dodges, but don't have the money for the good ones and anything else just does not keep up. I also agree with the guy who said we both bought domestic. One of the many reasons I got the Slobalt. I never bought a used car, and I hated the Caliber and it should be called the Compass Jr. It looks more like that!!!
