IIRC GMPP exhaust is actually smaller than ours ~ and the coupler at the headpipe uses a differnt flange.

What about unmodified cars would make you think that asking this here would be a good use of your time?

ok, I'll play nice;

there's another active thread for you...

My engine is bone stock, car has a different muffler (which is actually far too quiet, no noise at all) and powdercoated wheels cuz the stock clear coat flaked off, otherwise I've done no kind of mods to it.

Even better? I'm a GM Mechanic so I could easily do any mods myself, especially with access to a fully equipped shop.

However, I throw all my car mod money at my other rides (mainly my 69 C10 <--far from stock) and drive the Cobalt as a daily driver only.

Would I like to mod it? Sure, of course. Will I? Only if a stock part fails and aftermarket is a better (cheaper) option.

I completely agree. I've done a few mods to the cobalt, mostly for appearance and subs, but I'm really looking forward to fixing up my 69 Roadrunner

umm, lemme put it this way - you're not the first person to mistakenly think I have money

I don't have debt, and I have intentionally lived a quiet life for some time....

My Cobalt is my first (and probably only) new car.

This guy is completely stock 2007 supercharged lsj. I do own a Turbocharged ford focus zx3 though. I dont want to put money into the car yet until I pay off my snowmobile :$

However this summer I did manage to wreck all the intake valves and had to replace them in my driveway when my timing chain skipped

stock wheels, Stock sound system, Stock engine, Stock filter. Slightly lighter due to no badges

only non stock parts I have are from broken/worn parts due to bad design.

only mods are a downpipe and trans mounts. oh and im eventually putting in the new style tensioner. bad trans mounts caused my stock flex pipe to break, so i put on a new dp and new mounts to prevent it from happening again.

it has a gmpp clutch kit though, so not entirely stock. the old one started to slip.

I appreciate the kind words, but there's really no luck about it;
there's alot of restraint to not buy stuff, or live a life I cannot afford.

I had many friends the summer after high school who were buying new cars ~ I stayed driving old cars... for fifteen years.
I don't smoke, I don't drink, I don't have a fancy tv, or a fancy stereo;
For the first term of my mortgage I shared the house with my brother and his family ~ I was what I called the "cellar dweller" (I didn't make enough to have my own place).
I'm 34, this is my first new car.

you should read the thread here made by former SS/TC owners who bought Evo's, and miss their SS.

Bone stock 2008 LS, 13k miles. Only reason is because I just got it this week...Mods are are coming as soon as my tax check does. Starting with a set of FE5 SS struts to lower it. Then wheels and repainting the decals. Then as I get a chance to read up and do some more research on modding cobalts I plan to get under the hood. MY old car was a 05 WRX so its a bit different going from a 2.5L Turbo to a 2.2L N/A.

thanks

that's my first car ~ kinda went out of my way to get it too...

back then it wasn't seen as a classic yet ~ buth te month after i bought it, (I believe it was) Car Craft called the 1970 Firebird & Camaro's "future collectibles"

July 1995 - I was living in Winnipeg Manitoba, bought it out of Riverton Manitoba.

these day's a 1984 is a classic.

In high school a buddy drove (for a short spell) a minty 1983 Firebird SE ~ his dad sold it when it hit ten years old...
it might ave only been an auto/SE ~ but I REALLY liked that car, and lamented his dad selling it.
