What Have You Done To Your Cobalt Today?
you dont even need to use spring compressors on the front.. given you can get the endlink bolt off right away you should have no issue doing the whole front end in under 45 minutes.. spring compressors are a pain
heres the method you can easily do in this order:
loosen (not remove) the nut holding the strut into the tophat.. (do not touch the 3 10mm nuts)
jack up front of car
put on jackstands
remove wheels
remove 2 nuts that hold strut to knuckle
remove endlink from strut
put jack underneath control arm and jack it up to compress the spring as if its loaded from the car
remove top strut nut you loosened in the beginning
slowly lower jack and spring will fully decompress
remove 2 bolts that hold strut to knuckle
strut and spring come out
DONE
reverse process to install

Yeah padlock I read about that method on CU, was going to do it but the store near me rented spring compressors for free(deposit of coursE) so I thought I'd go that route.
But after doing this I can totally see how that no compressor method works it may sound dangerous but it's not and now that I think about it it really would have been much easier going that route... if I ever do this again I'm not going to use the compressor
But regardless it's really pretty easy once you get at it, The only thing was what a pain in the ass getting those endlinks off are though, I could never get that nut off without the bolt spinning, and I heard there was a wrench slot behind for it but I could never get it I sprayed so much penetrating fluid on as well but it just wasn't having it. I just said **** it it, took a torch, melted them off and bought moogs haha!

Yesterday I put the registration sticker on, drove it for the first time this year, got inspected, washed it, went to a meet, and took some pictures with bspeed.
My end link bolts came right off. For once something went right for me lol. I put a bit of anti seize on them for next time they need serviced.
Gave her a bath then good hand waxing with mothers Brazilian carnauba or whatever.

Sold my HAHN intake(got pretty much what I paid for it) and bought a K&N intake for waayyy less. This K&N had only been on the car for around 10,000km till the car got totaled. Guy left his MAF in there to haha win! But yeah this is WAAYY louder than the HAHN intake was, loving it!
drove the bitch!! finally some decent weather. calling my insurance company tomorrow to put it back to full coverage and then calling the dealership to set up an appointment for some other stuff.

I've got actual macpherson spring compressors.
I've swaped out 4 sets of springs with them, and never had a problem.
I would never pay anyone to do springs or struts on our cars, the install is just too easy.

raced a fully bolted and ZZP tuned 2.7 LSJ on E85.. WON
raced a fully bolted and tuned 3.8 genesis.. WON
guess I cant complain considering I'm still sitting on my conservatively timed 91 Oct map with just a catless downpipe as the only bolt-on.. LNF FTW

Did a two bucket hand scrub and wash, maguiars tire shine, did a 3 step hand wax miyagi style and a couple days later it snowed for ***** sake. At the time of washing and waxing it was 20 degrees Celsius and I got a minor sunburn, even so the wax job did really nice and it's still looking good. I just want a polish machine for the next wax job.
Ordered an armrest and some stuff from redlinegoods acessories. Got my headlight covering bracket, need to put them on. Suppose to receive my copper plastidip today to do my wheels.

Got my new powell control arm bushings in and the difference is amazing. The factory control arm bushings were shot, every time I'd go WOT it would dart from side to side. Now with the Powell bushings, zero dart from side to side!
Now the YYZ springs this weekend hopefully and then rear sway bar and an alignment and this batch will be ready for summer!
