well considering the axle boot was falling off I figured that's what was causing my steering wheel shake. It decreased it a bit with the swap but still there. I'm at a lost. Tires are new I had them balanced the car was aligned no more than a month ago (granted got to do it again since the f40 shop axle is a bit shorter than oem) and it's been shaking so bad. My last idea is to rotate the tires maybe the front tires are bad? Or they didnt get balanced when I told them to and paid for the service

Could have a bent wheel, axles usual cause shaking on acceleration only. If it's there constantly you could have either a bum tire or bent wheel. A shop with a hunter road force balance will be able to tell you if the tire is bad. I usually don't see that very often but every once in a great while we get it at the dealership

Yeah, I'd do a quick swap of the rear tires to the front and see if it makes any difference at all. I've seen bent rims on the front that were so bad that just rolling in my driveway would cause the steering wheel to slowly move back and forth.

wheels and tires are both new. Vibration is only while moving. I cant say at what speed because its random but usually anything above 60 will make it really bad. When turning the wheel it kinda goes away but once the steering wheel is straight it will vibrate again

Since I was talking about it here seems like my centering rings for a 5mm spacer in the front where not letting the tires sit flush so once I started getting high on speed the wheels would shake causing my steering wheel shake. I installed the right ones and the car didnt shake anymore so one stupid problem fixed. Getting the car aligned again right now

Did buy them from CED? Glad you found the issue and got it fixed, putting the 6 speed back in?

the centering rings? Nope got them off Ebay. The lsd trans I got from CED and will be installing and removing the f40 kit. All I want now is a reliable car that's fast enough

If the wobble is gone why not keep the 6 speed?

ohh the wobble was from the centering rings on my steering wheel. The engine still vibrates so that's still there

Did you check that the trans mounts were lined up correctly for the F40? Could the custom mounts provided by ZZP by crappy?

I already messed with all the mounts except the front one because I dont have a spare. They are ottp mounts but they where working fine when I installed everything. Checked all bolts everything is fine to what i could see and check

could be the mounts or imo it is the mounts but not sure what mount. I had all 3 ottp mounts installed. Front and top have to be those cant use oem. Rear doesnt matter but I had ottp one on. They worked for a few months then problems started.

I then changed the top trans mount for the zzp one left the other 2 the same. No change.

then I replaced the rear one for the oem with the key hole spacer. No change. Also changed the oem engine mount for the ottp but that made it worse and I removed it immediately.

Right now I'm with stock engine mount and rear mount with ottp top and front mount car still vibrates. So only mount I havent messed with is the front but that's a custom mount so I would need to buy another but if I'm wrong its money down the drain I guess

Snail - is there a way for you to check the alignment - both motor to trans and trans to draft-shafts? What I'm thinking is put the car on jack stands and a jack under the trans and loosen the mounts to try to get everything even. Kind of like putting the reverse mount in to align everything to prevent wheel hop. You could then see how the mounts are pulling the trans out of alignment as they are tightened.

I can give it another try but that's what I did. Had everything loose align it and then tighten everything again

I haven't updated this in a while. Been replacing the speakers in the new car. Setup with JLA C2-650X in the front, JLA C2-690tx in the rear. Going to be replacing the subwoofer (keep the stock box) probably with a JLA 10TW3-D4 with a 500W monoblock.
I ordered 72 sq ft of sound proofing material, as by the time the quarantine passes through, it should be warm enough to start applying that.

I may update the pioneer double din head unit next year, but it still works.

I hate when I do that: Working on finishing a long awaited project only to miss something small but integral. At least it's better than before!

Yeah I remember I I loosened it to install the rear and align everything and I just forgot to tighten that one one. But hoping that fixes it.
