i found out that an 08 will work on your 07 but that you should get the higher flowing 05-06 manifold because the 07-up one is the same as the lap manifold

why dont u start with the blow through unit to get a decent build going for a lot less money and then save up for a log type manifold?

What's up guys I've run through the post a couple of times but saw a few different opinions as to what parts are needed for a 2007 2.2 so I was just wondering if I could get any clarification as to exactly what I'll need to order from gmpartsdirect for the 2007 2.2 IM to the 2.4..
For example, the first page says I need to make sure the manifold has the extended insert, but reading on, someone said that 07's didnt need it..
Great how to by the way, I'll definitely be using it for installation.. Just don't wanna take off my entire intake manifold and throttle body only to find I'm missing a part and can't go to the store to get it!
Any help is much appreciated thanks

you want the extended insert(this comes with the mani it's a piece of plastic), you don't however need the special mounting plate some l61's need. 07's got lucky

So when I order the mani from gmpartsdirect there's nothing else I need to get other than the mani? What about the gaskets?

Will someone please just give me a list of the part numbers that I will need for this install.. I plan to order from gmpartsdirect and all that I know is that I need the intake manifold and a "brake booster hose". There's so much other talk with all these gaskets and seals and mounting plates it's throwing me off.
I have a 2007 2.2L LT.. What (exactly) do I need to order?
Much appreciated thanks to the person who can give me the part numbers from gmpartsdirect of EVERYTHING that I will need. I don't want to take my intake manifold off and realize I'm missing a part then have to wait for that part to ship.

I tried pulling the hose in a downward motion after removing the black clip lock but it isn't coming off whatsover. Any suggestions?

Do you have to have CAI for this swap to work or can I use my factory **** for the time being?

You need a CAI, yes.

I just did this last night using this How-To. My car is an 08 too. A few things I noticed that weren't said in the how to...

-The 2.4 manifold doesn't have a screw hole for the dipstick tube or the MAP sensor. MAP sensor harness should be plugged into the sensor, then put the sensor in the manifold. Its a pressure fit, so make sure its in there.
-When I removed my stock 2.2 manifold, it was a total pain in the ass. It was catching on the cylinder head on the driver side so I had to play with it for a while and eventually the gold insert on the manifold around the driver side stud came loose so I moved that towards the head and out of the manifold which gave me JUST enough clearance to get it off the stud and out of the car.
-When putting the 2.4 manifold in, I found it easier to remove the injector harnesses to get enough clearance for the brake booster nipple to clear the AC line
-Its easier to cut the stock brake booster hose and extending it than to remove it from the plastic fitting on the brake booster...at least I was more comfortable doing it that way than potentially breaking the plastic fitting lol.

Thats it I think. Overall, definitely worth it. Pulls hard to redline now, sounds deeper and a bit more aggressive too when you really hammer it.

Awesome

Just ordered my 2.2 to 2.4 conversion manifold kit from crateenginedepot.com, gonna install mine with my K&N in a few weeks! The kit seemed kinda pricey though, it was like 580 shipped from crateenginedepot... should give good gains with the trifecta tune though!

.
you dont need a CAI, you can get by with a 2.4 intake tube

The reason that info isnt in the how-to is because its not true if you got the proper early style 06-07 intake. There most definitely is a location to secure the dipstick and the MAP sensor is held in place by a plastic lock on the manifold........

By the way....been on the manifold for over 3years now....runs great, never a single DTC, great mod
