Yea there are three nuts holding the stock airbox on, but after literally reinstalling it half a dozen times, i just used one of the nuts and it held it in place fine.
Didn't help that i lost two of them too :S

i took the bottom of my airbox off and wired the filter in just so i could take it for a buzz around the street....i didnt notice a difference in throttle responce or power like some of you guys are claiming, but the s/c was loud!
anyway its a great how to with great instructions.

Oh and a quick suggestion for anyone installing just the K&N hi flow filter and worrying about oil getting on your maf.
Before installing the K&N filter, let it sit in front of a floor fan (on high setting) for a little while. At least 30 minutes and occasionally rotate it. I let it sit while accessing my airbox and removing the screws from the airbox cover.
This is a quick and effective way to dry off some of that oil that can be so annoying to our cars.
I did this and absolutely no CEL after 2000 miles

ya black supa charged is right.. u need a better flowin filter like an AEM filter or a K&N filter.. u will hear it and feel it.. but its up to u if u want to half ass the old filter in there.. good luck bud.
yeah i finally found that tricky third nut...really makes the supercharger whine. only this is that once i got it on and started the car i gave a it a few revs and noticed there was black smoke puffing out the exhaust. it went away after drving for a while, but i dont know what woulda caused it
I just did the modification today, using the AEM dryflow filter. Before I put the airbox back in, I saw that I could fit the bottom lid of the airbox back on over the AEM filter. But I noticed that many have left the lid off altogether.
Since I can fit the lid back on, should I go ahead and do it? I didn't put it on today, and I have fallen in love with that whiiiinnneee, so I don't wanna lose any of it by putting it back on, but on the other hand, I don't want to worry about driving through puddles.
So does it matter if I leave the lid off or not?

you shouldnt be driving through that much water anyways
i'm still waitin on my AEM filter.. they told me they still have not got it in, and its been like 2 weeks lol this company is bull ****! dont buy anything from nolimit motor sports, they take a fu*** month to get anything, lol Durty what it cost u to do ur pepboys mod?
Just did mine. I used the AEM 21-2110dk "drop-in" (uses same opening as stock, and will fit with airbox cover on), drilled a hole for hose clamp and left the bottom off the air box. Wow - big difference in performance. It doesn't bog down when I floor it - and it boosts higher too! (Not to mention the whine). Oh, and for those who are interested - if I drive it the same as before, I get no gas mileage change. But, since I drive it to listen to that whine - economy is going down haha.
ahh man im still waitin for mine to come in!! but i just hooked up some sub's to my car!! so i can vibrate the car next to mine :P and or make the girlys horny in mine :P hahah glad to hear ur car is runnin awesome "Thought" ~~!!! ttyl guys/ girls if there is any :P
