dryflo's will make sure you dont get a cel, the cel is caused by oils getting on the maf and screwing the readings, if you want a fix that will work once most of the oil is out of the filter from driving say 2 weeks, then remove the maf and spray it with MAF cleaner and reinstall, bet you wont get a cel

I read this thread when I fist got on this site, did the mod with an oiled filter, and popped a cell. Got a dryflow and it never came on again. I wish I could take a pic but along with the clamp, I criss-crossed 2 zip ties across the opening of the box for "added" security. This is a great mod, cheap and the plastic intake tubing doesnt hold heat like metal. And you can be back to stock in no time.

AWESOME! funny part is the clamp dries out and in 2 years of using it never fell off, but the zip ties work :

I've heard that with this airbox mod you can get hydrolock when you drive through a big puddle at high speeds...true?

ya maybe like 2 feet of water. Unless your filter it sitting in water or getting a direct injection of water there is no way. Any intake is gonna go the same.

if you are driving theu a big deep puddle at high speed, you have more to worry about than hydrolock, like hydroPLANE....

any CAI will ingest water if you submerge the filter in standing water.

Best recommendation, dont drive thru unknown depths of water

The splash guard underneath there works wonders. I've even driven through a car wash with the undercarriage spray with no incident so far. *knock on wood* ;-)
