I'm *supposed* to have the KN filter waiting for me when I get home from work today, and hopefully enough sunlight to get the thing in tonight...I'll let you all know how the install goes and if I get any warning lights. Just so we have another example.

I love the dryflow I have on my silverado. What size did you use/model number? Do you get any cel's with the dry flow?

Did it ever go into 'limp home' mode when it threw the cel? My guess is in the time you've had it maybe once every 30-60 days or so you get the CEL right?

you can get cels for a number of different reasons, with the mods I am doing I cannot attribute it to a air filter at this point...

Hmmm .... you said once every 60 days and now its not since last year. Now take a deep breath in through your nose. breath it out slowly out you mouth. now determine what is the truth and dont listen to the voices in your head.
thanks.

as far as having the mod goes when I had the oiled filter occasionally I had a cel, now I had other things done and it always wasnt po171, then I switched to the dryflow and have not had problems since then (LAST YEAR) but I occasionally get cels anyhow just not PO171, he was primarily asking about the limp mode and I have NEVER gone into limp, if you want to do some kind of study on the airbox mod then do it yourself and take notes
I'm sure your debadged trunk and k+n filter are just pushing the limits of your cars performance
I think your airfilter needs reoiling....catch my drift!
If you are doing the mod then use the dryflow and you wont have anything to worry about, I'm sure you know that k+n is not the best choice for the car right?
you probably already have a coat of oil on the maf anyhow so whats your beef?
