how many of each LED did you use? (3mm, 5mm etc.) im looking to do drivers side door switches (4, 3mm?), HVAC (4, 5mm?), passenger door switches (2, 3mm?), and the radio (4-6 5mm? possibly more?)

 

Have not seen/done a radio. all 3mm besides steering wheel controls. coupes take one for driver side window, one for mirror switch, one for lock switch same goes on passenger. cluster i use 11 leds and hvac i use 5

 

so (3) 3mm for driver side door, (2) 3mm for passenger door, (4) 3mm for HVAC, and (2?) 5mm for steering wheel? im not doing cluster as mine comes red from the factory.

I added one more to get the colors to what I wanted. I went to ebay for the micros forgot the size tho

 

I sharpied my radio like my HVAC and gauges.

I might just take tail light tape and cut it to fit so I get a constant brightness over the whole thing

 

yes those are micros. I may do my stock radio to show ppl how easily it can be done post with interest before i do it....

 

i want to see how to take the radio out and how many bulbs there are

 

Mine is an '09 and its WAY different than the one in above pictures. The ones in ablove pictures would be very easy for me to convert I tried mine with no such luck its way bright in some areas and very dim in others. My radio only has 5 leds to light the entire face.

 

i have 07 g5 gt. i dont know if they changed hu's between our years

Radio just has 4 screws holding to the dash and 4 screws holding the faceplate on.

 

im sending him mine with red leds so ill keep you posted on how it turns out.
i did the painting the bulbs and it looks find but i blew a bulb so i picked up a spare hvac for cheap and im sending it his way.

yes sirr.
i had everything painted and all but i blew a bulb. so i ordered a new hvac and got it today.
heres a pic of just the inside plastic pieces and the back to the face painted red. only the left side and center is painted red. as shown here



doesnt look that bad just not that bright unless its night time.



leds should achieve the amount of brightness i want.
