so u just replace the low beam, wich is the projector on the the 1st gen. and the high beams stay the same? or do they the lows stay on when u turn on the high with thes kit???

Do you know for a fact that the DDM 9007 hi/low full kit will work in our cars in specific my car an 09 lol?

Also is the HID wiring harness (http://www.ddmtuning.com/index.php?p...=133&parent=94) necessary? This how-to (https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/showthread.php?t=92078) makes it seem like it is.

I know for a fact the 9007 hi/lows work in our cars. I have an 06 and I had no problems. However I don't know if the newer models have warning lights for if lights burn out. DDM does have something to help with that problem too.

The Hi/low lights come with their own wiring harness so there is no need to purchase one.

How complex is the install? Is it just like in the how-to (https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/show....php?t=92078)?

 

Took me about 10 minutes to install and about 10 minutes to make sure everything was tucked away to my liking...

 

how did you install the foglights? did you remove the front bumper off or did you remove the headlight bracket to have easy access to the fog lights?

 

you don't need to remove the headlight bracket to reach in there for the fogs unless you have chubby arms. the other way you could do it is to take the screws out of the splash guard underneath the bumper and they are right there

 

did you leave both ground wires on both ends with the stock and the aftermarket?

 

I have no idea what you're talking about. You hook up the wiring harness provided with the high low kit to the positive battery post under the hood. The you hook up the ground wire to a solid ground. Then you push the pins into the connector provided (looks like the plug on the back of the 9007 headlights) and plug that into the factory plug for you headlight on the drivers side (this is just so it can tell when the lights are on and off and when you have the high beams on it draws the power for the system from the auxiliary harness that comes with the kit). Then you install the HID bulbs in the housing and plug in the ballasts (one end goes to the harness that came with the kit and the other goes into the bulb). Then hide all the wires and you're done.

edit: This is for the DDM kit. I can't comment on kits from any other manufacturer...

 

Got my DDM HID kit done. I grounded both the wires under the headlight brackets where the screw holds it in place for the headlights to sit properly, hooked the positive to the circuit breaker where the rod is. The ballasts are really concealed along with the box and tucked the wire harness under the grill. The only thing you can see is the red wire and I'll have that covered up soon. Just got to get my hi beams to work right because it looks backwards when I turn them on. Just going to take the blue connector and switch the two wires around and that should solve the problem other than that those are some good HID's from DDM Tuning. I'll post some pics soon.

Yea when you look at the bulb the high beam is when the glass part of the bulb is sucked into the base. If you turn them on with one bulb outside of the housing you can watch it move up and down. Switching the two outside wires on the plug should do the trick. I had to call them and ask them about this...

i have an 06 ls coupe, and i bought plug and play 12000s for the 9007. the hid blue comes on only the brights and normal are yellow. how do i fix this. anyone help?

 

So I recently bought HIDs at a car show. Turns out they sold me 9004's instead of 9007. I repinned them, and they work great now. Anyone know anything about reliability and longevity of the lights if I'm using them differently. Everything is stock.

 

So I put a set of HID's in for a buddy of mine today on a 2006 chevy cobalt lt. He claims he bought the bi xenon bulbs for his headlights, however, his brights don't work when you turn them on, but his low beams work fine. The set came with a relay harness which I hooked up with the extra plug on the passenger side that doesn't plug into anything. Can anybody help me with this?

 

i have this same kit and my passenger side headlight comes on at first but then turns off. itll come back on for a second if i turn the lights on and off, but can anyone tell me why this is happening? its like im not getting enough power to the passenger side bulb i guess
