door chimes are in the speedo so if the pac has additional chimes then you will have 2 chimes

I bought the thing with the extra chime.. ended up desoldering the wires inside the module .Hahaha. Whoops.

I hate the GM chimes. So much hate. I wish I could remove them completely.

The metal piece, or the plastic? The plastic should be easy for any sharp edge. The metal, you know, you can just unbolt. You don't need to cut it. I just couldnt fit a wrench in there and didn't want to bother.

if u have the pioneer system u have to give the amp remote. there should be a blue remote or antenna wire in the harness u bought. if not the pink wire on the car end "should" be the remote for the stock amp

looked briefly and i think its the metal piece.
i dont remember seeing a plastic piece. im going to look at it today. all i know is i couldnt put it straight back because the back of the double din was hittin the back metal piece.
after i unbolt the metal piece the double din will be able to go further back and the holes for the install kit will sit flush with the car right

right. but there should be plastic in the way before the metal. If not then this was already cut out so no worries

yeah i already had a single din. Bestbuy did the original install in 2009 on my sony. I bought the upgraded model of that 2009 model in 2011 (same thing just upgraded design and interface)and i changed it myself. I just took that 2011 Sony model out for a JVC KW-AV60BT.I got a GREAT price on ebay BRAND NEW. Too good to believe seeing how much it is on Crutchfield Best Buy AND Sonicelectronix. Lets just say for the double din, JVC iphone/ipod interface cable, install kit AND an adapter that fits my Lifeproof Iphone case( obv not needed if you dont have a Lifeproof case for iphone), I got everything for cheaper than the Double Din alone if one was to buy it at one of those 3 places i listed above. I didnt see this plastic. Best Buy probally got rid of that when they installed my single sony din in 09. i did see the metal that was connected to the everything back there. on the sides and everything. so you just have to unbolt it? or just cut the left side and right side and remove the bolt on the right.

u can remove it however u see fit but if you have a 1/4 ratchet a 7mm socket and some determination then it will unbolt with no cutting required at all.

What do you guys have connected to the back of your Double DINs?
Mine fits fine with no modification and I have a huge HD Radio tuner box under mine as well.

I have an AVH-4300DVD.
I have an Axxeses harness with one of those small black boxes. I dunno, everything fits in fine with my iPhone video cable, video bypass, aux, and HD tuner.

turns out i did have the plastic! went to town with wire snips at the corners. broke it in half. than snipped the other side.
gettin to the bolts was cake. used a normal size ratchett but this is a twisty one that turns 365 degrees. worked like a charm.

lolll

Most of it was phonecalls and such, dont forget. I had to figure out how to do all the wiring, and have never installed a headunit before in my life.

Wrote this up so it doesn't take everyone else 12 hours.

Also I had a few beers, dont judge

i got an issue. with the C2R-GM24 harness installed, my newly installed viper smart start system is causing rear speaker noise whenever the car gets a signal from my cell phone. very annoying. i can exactly unplug it cause then my deck doesnt work, but when i do, noise goes away. so is there any other harness i can use to maintain factory chimes and such? wanna try a diff one, and if i have to i guess ill just get rid of it alltogether
