Bump for a great review and a great product..

BEWARE OF IMITATIONS AND INFERIOR PRODUCTS. Ingalls engineering has been in business for over 25 years and is one of the orginators of engine torque dampers. We solely test, develop, and research our products extensivly to make sure that they are of the highest quality and actually work unlike other companies that are out to make a "quick buck" off the aftermarket.

Not only do we stand behind our products we actually use them on our own cars. I have had my damper installed for over 2 years on a boosted civic and love it! if anyone has any ?'s regarding our damper please feel free to contact me directly..

Hey, I always have time for my bro just have a hard time getting a hold of you.
Your right about my engine bay. am going to clean it this weekend.

The life span of the Engine Damper am not sure about. You can e-mail Rob at Ingalls directly : robs@ingallseng.com

basically we have had this on over a year on a couple local evos that put down around 400+(crazy cars!!!) we recommend them on cars that are less than 500hp but I have seen them on cars with more...

The honda civics were the first applications produced which one of mine was an r&d vehicle...I have had mine on a boosted civic for over 2 years with no issues and I POUND on the car(scca osp class, and test and tunes at the local drag strip)..there is really no maintence required on the damper itself...

**HOWEVER**

the black o rings that are supplied in the kit do degrade over about a year because they take up the majority of vibrations on the brackets..

.50$ at home depot..make sure you get the same diameter though...

I actually "upgraded" my o rings with harder ones that make the setup perform better BUT it definitly increases the vibrations so I wouldn't recommend that if you are a daily driver...

Ingalls Engine Damper Trick no.1!!

Dynamat used for subwoofer enclosures are great to decrease vibration and noises throughout the car especially when you run the "Stiffy" damper on the hardest setting.. Cobalts actually come from the factory with sound deading material installed around the strut area...use dynamat extreme on the firewall..I would recommend dynamat extreme cause it has higher temp ratings than regular dynamat..you can really go crazy with this stuff depending on how crazy you want to get to decrease vibrations..

feel fee to hit me up with any ?'s about the Ingalls "stiffy" damper..

I installed mine on the car yesterday, and this "how to" is VERY usefull. Thanks to Denny for taking the time to write this. Also talked to Rob as I had a few questions, very cool guy. Love the product you guys are making over there. O and another quick question. I understand that the in-cabin noise will be more than without it on, but when turning to the right should it be louder than the noise when traveling in a straight path?

give yourself some time to adjust to the noise and added 'feel' (dare i say?)

but i would say check to make sure both sides are adjusted properly and evenly

power loss? noooooo

you are putting more power to the wheels due to less engine torque.
think of it this way: when the engine is moving, hp is being wasted due to torque/engine movement. putting that power more directly to the wheels will yeild greater results.

hope that helps bro

Yeah, LSD won't help much with wheel hop. Mine still hops if I don't ease into a run. Full throttle is a no-no on all but the stickiest patches of road. You need to feather the throttle off the line still, or you will hop-and-skip your way to a 16-sec. quarter mile!

Yes, but only if you have an after market intake...I know it fits with the Injen but am not too sure about the AEM.

I just got back from my first test run with the Ingalls and the wheel hop is GONE!!!!!!!! I get smoke in first, second and a chirp in third!!! This should be your first purschase because why make more power when you cant put it to the ground.

yeah. i've had mine installed for 24 hours now. I LOVE IT

props on an excellent product Rob. hell, a lot of ppl are failing to mention that it feels like getting a new clutch aswell. the shifts are firmer and more responsive. and that 1-2 "slippage-feel" is greatly lessened.

thanks for helpin us all out

So... has anyone tried this on a automatic 2.4 yet? Would it help? Should I just bite the bullet and get one?
