2.0 LSJ Engine: How to plug your SC silencer holes
don't be, after thinking about it for so long, when i do get to it, it'll be fine. so long as the holes are beveled properly, that stuff won't come out. i'm really looking forward to doing mine soon, just g2 save up a bit more $$ for the OTTP kit and i'll do it then... or maybe do this first to get comfortable with removing the SC sinc i haven't done so yet. i'll post up when i get to it
I just ported my blower and took pics. AND THE PLUGS ARE FINE! They havent moved or cracked. That quicksteel is some awesome shiznit. I'll post pics as soon as my computer stops being retarded.
When you seal the holes, and then sand them down exactly how do u clean up the excess crap to make sure nothing will fall in the other holes and create bigger problems did u use a vac or napkin?
I used painters tape to seal off the bearings and then used brake cleaner to clean everything off. I would buy two large cans of the brake cleaner.
i'm upset, it's july and i haven't gotten the OTTP kit like i had planned, back to having only 1 job blows...
startingline05, as for beveling the holes, you'll want the top part of the hole, which is where the SC rotors spin, to be larger than the bottom part of the hole, where the air exits on the bottom of the SC. beveling is 'To cut at an inclination that forms an angle other than a right angle' so basically, make the hole larger at the top, so the glue that dries is larger at the top, so it can't go thru the smaller part of the hole. the 2 small holes are the solencer holes btw.

well, here are those pics.. this is after the supercharger has been on the car for at least 10000 miles with the quiksteel:

dam i wish i had someone local to do this mod for me i want more whine i got 2.9 and injen screams pretty good but still not loud enough....anyone know of a place that would do it for me???? im also getting 2.7 for xmas so i would like to do this mod when s/c is off
Its really simple man. If you have the mechanical know-how to remove the blower from the car than you can take off a couple more bolts and plug the holes. I dont think any shop would do this mod for you.
