I just ordered a Memphis shallow sub for the stock sub box that i got off ebay.
For the Memphis sub i will need to notch the box a little to fit it in.
I was able to test fit the display one at a local shop.
I'll post pics of the install.

This is for the person wo put the jl 10w7 in the stock enclosure
What all do you need to do t get it to fit?
What sub will go in with little to no mods to the stock enclosure

just done this to my car.. had a custom fiberglass box that took up half my trunk in my 06 ss and wanted my trunk back when i got my 2010
.. have a m500 alpine amp running at 4 ohms(sub is svc 4ohm ) and its double the loudness as the stock sub and am noticing alot more frequencies that i didnt hear from the stock sub.. AND I HAVE MY TRUNK BACK with no extra weight.. maybe gonna make a replica enclosure for the right side of the trunk so i can run both at 2 ohms.. but we'll see how spring goes..
luckily i bought 2 kenwood exelon shallow enclosure subs.. fit directly in the stock enclosure no cutting or anything and looks like the jl one the guy done on this thread
http://www.amazon.com/Kenwood-KFC-XW...2621437&sr=8-1
And was it really no cutting to install?
Did the screw holes line up?
Any pictures?
Thanks

I have a doubt. There when creating a adapter cable for speaker high level input to amp. How did you connect the cables of the subwoofer to the amp if it was removed from the beginning? Not sure if you connect it again to the connector of the oem amplifier or not? more pictures would be great, man.. And the output connection to the subfoower from where did you get the cable? Could you explain a little bit more the input and outspeaker speaker/subwoofer procedure. Thanks a lot

I've read that some who didn't want as much kick just bought a 300w Pioneer amp and wired it to the stock sub - would that process be the same as this write-up, minus the sub work?

Ok so I recognize the stock black/red harness, but where does the harness with the white/black wires come from? That's the only question that I can see isn't really clearly answered.

You can get some splice connectors so you don't cut your wires and hook a line out converter to the rear deck speakers. This is for installing an aftermarket amp. For a remote wire, I ran mine to the fuse box on the A/C fuse. That way unless you turn your key completely on your amp won't kick on so you can listen to the stereo without running your battery down quickly with the amp. Plus it kicks off with everything else when the car is being started. You can also reverse mount a full size 10 in the stock box. You just need to reverse the polarity in which your sub is hooked up. Negative to positive, positive to negative.
