no it won't fit. you'll have to expand the box to be bigger, or do what i did and mount it solo-baric style

Someone correct me if I am wrong but I beleive its mainly just for the ooh and ahh effect. Ive done it before and didnt notice a difference in the sound... just looked cooler/different than normal and the wiring is backwards

my main purpose cuz the sub was too big to fit in the stock box.

as for the reverse polarities...
you're reversing a sub, so you would have to cross the polarities to reverse the effect of a reverse mounting sub. so at the end it will have the same effect as a regular mounted sub.

failing to do this your sub would be "hitting backwards"

Hey, does anyone know if this Sub is any good for this setup? It's the best one i could find for a reasonable price, and i don't really want to buy something that isn't going to be worth my money! Lol thanks!!

PIONEER TS-SW2501S4 1200W 10" CAR SHALLOW SW SUB WOOFER on eBay.ca (item 190491994598 end time 16-Feb-11 16:34:46 EST) <-- that would help LOL

as long as you can power it correctly.

Thanks for the idea!

Ordered a 10" Kicker CVT, and a Kicker ZX400.1 off eBay. I know the Kicker won't fit with out modifying the box a little. I plan to stick a bolt through the rear sub mounting hole, with a nut and washer on the outside, heat it up with a torch and pull the plastic nub down enough to fit the sub. Then seal with silicone. I'm also going to mount the amp under the rear dash. Was thinking a piece of 3/8" plywood, mounted with U bolts, then mount the amp to the plywood. Any suggestions? or pics of how someone else has done the same thing.

Just mount it to the back of your seat. I did that and hid all my wiring up under the spare tire cover. A lot easier and probably neater than mounting it to the read dash/deck. i have an Alpine MRD-M1005 amp which is probably close to the same size physically as your amp.

Main purpose I have found is you gain more air space because the sub is no longer taking up that space. Ex. I reverse mounted my two mtx 8000 series 15s in a sealed box and they now hit twice as hard. But thats 15s, they take up a lot more air space than a 12 or 10.

It's not a W7

To the OP or anyone else, I read that if you run the stock sub wires to a LOC or to the high level inputs on your amp, you're not getting the best sound quality possible. The sound is going from the stock HU to the factory amp, then to your aftermarket amp. Double amping it can't be the best way to do it.

Is there any way, instead of connecting to the subwoofer wires, to connect to the source, BEFORE the factory amp??

Let me know please and thanks, picking up my new to me 07 SS/SC tomorrow and planning to get my $149 new sub and $250 brand new amp installed (in the factory sub box!!) right after I pick it up =)

-Jamie M.
*Edit: Found this diagram which looks like it's the unamplified input to the factory amp, so if I tap off those wires I Should be G2G!

So, I had a super crazy 13W7 install all planned, take up most of the trunk, etc. But the GF said, after having two 12's in the Hyundai Accent and no trunk room "no way are you putting a monster speaker box in the trunk of this car too! You can upgrade the door speakers and anything else you want, but no changing the sub box!!!".

Do you think this is what she meant?

LICK FOR HIGH RES!

My "bump in the trunk" upgrade is gettin close to completion

RE Audio SEX 10D4 ($149 new) and JL 500/1v2 ($250 NIB).

-Jamie M.
(EDIT: A few trunk shots, and hey, I found out my car has a limited slip diff!! WOOT!!!)
