Yes, the Lexus that will kill the test driver, just what I would want!!!!!
And Lifter, are we having some troubles with the supercharger????
Brad, what wheels are you going with?

Nope. No troubles. Dirty and I are going to tune the Cobalt for 42s this spring with out changing pulley sizes. So I want a second supercharger for porting, plugging, and polishing.
If anyone has a good/decent set of 4 all season tires in either 215/45/18 or 225/40/18, let me know.
No, never got around to it. At this point I'm trying to put as little money as possible into the car but that's not going too well.
I had a tire go flat and come off the back side of the wheel yesterday, so now I need a new wheel, a new tire (more like a whole set, since they're mismatched anyhow), and I still need to get all the damages that other people have done/were already done to my car before I got it fixed.
I think it knows it's days with me are drawing to an end, so it's giving me a hard time.

That sucks man. I just sold my bike, not all I have to do is sell the slobalt and then I'll be buying a STi. I'm hoping to have it all done in about a month or so, but it all depends on when the Cobalt sells.

Seems many cobalt owners specially lsj guys are tradin in or sellin their cobalt for a sti or an evo. An evo I could understand but an STi? T
heres so much more out there for a evo then an STi, I take it you have considered a lnf? I know of 3 places in NE ohio that has them on their lots & 1 of them is a white 2009 unicorn
Only reason I say anything about an STi is 3 ppl in my area have them & untill they are turbo swapped they get walked on by the ss/tc. Iono just sayin, not tryin to stir up your reasons for wanting one just curious.
Thats a well descripted reason why thanks.........................are you kyle because this was driected towards him?
Evo>STi any day of the week SSir, Only thing STi has over the evo is a bullet proof tranny other then that modding wise the evo takes the win. You should know this since you list owning them both.
I have 3 buddies w/STi's in my area & every one of them falls on their face @ 100mph(stock turbo).......................... to me thats a joke & is a reason why they say "do it from a dig then see what happens" lol.

Yes. I own both. And if I had to part with one it'd be the evo hands down.
Evos are cheap speed machines like their predecessor the DSM. And I've owned one of them as well.
The build quality is worse, the interior is worse. The only things in an evo that are better than an sti are the engine and the rear swaybar.
Stis and evos are both not street racing / quarter mile cars by design. They are a handling man's car. So I could care less how either one acts above 100mph. If ur in the market for this kinda car you'd be looking more at skidpad numbers and RHT slalom times.
U want a daily driver? STi
Why? It works on a daily basis and the interior isn't made of action figure plastic
Its built like farm equipment
U want a dedicated racecar? Evo
Why? The engine is better and if u can afford a dedicated racecar you can afford all the maintenance this car requires.
Its built like a cell phone

lol @ street racing. Take it to the track and see how a Cobalt stands against an STi. Matter of fact, come to Nelson's Ledges this spring and you and Dirty and duke it out on the track there =P

STi's & Evo's are just as much 1/4mile cars as they are autoX, I mean they are awd come on lol. Wish I could hold it to the floor & launch off the tac too but that wont be happening. Both Evo & STi are expensive to work on when it comes to replacing originally parts & or aftermarket again I am sure you are well aware of this also. Guess I am just gettin a lil butt hurt over many ppl on this forum gettin rid of the cobalts for sti's or evo's. I know the pros & cons to them in comparision w/the slobalt but theres enough of them in this area & cobalts are dieing off it seems
I just need to let it go................................
Anyways I have yet to lose to a SUBI on the street in this area & I intend on keeping it this way. I have yet to run a evo though.
Correct me if I am wrong but in the stock class doesnt the lnf cobalt beat evo & sti @ autoX?
Sure it depends on which track but from what I have read thats the case^.
I am well aware that once modded and hp increases wrong wheel drive cobalts & its **** rear suspension is its downfall. You really think I wasn't aware of that?

I am aware of everything you just previously listed, STi's will take an ass whoopin & not break I have seen it done many times.

And you're arguing with a guy who has owned a Subaru for 7 years and has done all of the work to it him self.
And in my experience, RWD is a better 1/4. AWD is AutoX and Road Racing FTW. But then again, it's all about the rubber regardless of what you're doing.
Nelson's Ledges is a road race course; open track.

AutoX/Road racing is a lil out of my price range to be doing, I don't have that kinda money floatin around to swap out rubbers all the time. I run my car at the dragstrip 30-50 times a season the last 2 yrs I have had it. Its cheaper & the track is r15 minutes away from me. Please tell me that STi's & Evo's are not & have never been known as 1/4 mile cars because that wouls be a false statement. Even though they are well equipped & ready for autoX/road racing they are still awd & competitive in at the dragstrip.

STi's are not expensive to work on. I've owned and raced my STi since new in 04 and nothing non-regular wear has every needed replaced on it. I'm going to be putting in its first replacement clutch ever this spring. Everything else I've done has been either an upgrade or tires & brake pads.
Full 2nd gear set w/ synchros for an STi ~$150
Full 2nd gar set for a Cobalt (Lifter chime in here), also you can't buy it cuz its on international back order. or at least thats my experience
These last two points are toward the idea that STi's are expensive to work on. cuz they aren't....like i said...farm equipment.
Evo's and STi's are not designed to be competitive in the quarter mile. No.
People modify them to do so, but there are better bases to start with.
no, nothing with a 8.2:1 compresion ratio 2.5L motor is built for the 1/4 mile.
In the quarter mile the RWD V8 is king, hands down. You dont need all this fancy AWD and Anti-lag.

Whos arguing, I thought we were just discussing a topic in a NE Ohio BS thread? I was originally asking kyle a question then comes along a Sti guy & we discussed not argue SUBI, DSM bs & here you are ? So really I am at a loss from where you are comeing from w/this aruing BS!? I know exactly where nelson ledges is SSir, & I have a friend that teaches ppl how to race their so what!?

According to the Stealership Dirty, they told me it was 250 for the syncro, not including the gear. Just for second gear. They also told me that it was far more cost effective to buy a brand new trans because a rebuilt one with OEM parts costs almost twice as much as a new trans.
I feel like the abuse on NASIOC is far more withstand-able than the whining and constant dick measuring contest that is CSS members sometimes lol
