First of all welcome to the site

Before you panic, try a few things first.

A misfire can be brought on by a bad coil pack. Try swapping the #4 coil pack with say the #3 coil pack.

If you get a misfire on #3, you will then know it's the coil pack. Also, check your plugs.

Thanks appreciate it.
And I did that all ready and I got new sparkplugs, it had a little bit of oil in cylinder 4, my car sounds like a subaru still right now.

That would be #4 then.

Did you do a compression and leak down test?

I said that would be #4 meaning the #4 piston is prob shot.

The subaru sound is the common sound when a piston goes on these car.

Do a compression and leak down to verify for sure.

So how do I check the compression and leak down test?

If it's a prob piston is that really bad?

If you can repair it yourself, it's not that bad. If not, it can be pricey.

You will need a compression tester to check.

If you dont have one, ask your mechanic to check it for you. Compression should be in the 190-200 range across the board on a healthy LSJ. It can vary though.

If #4 is obviously lower than the rest, you will know for sure.
