07 radio in an 06

I read a write up of someone doing it, I tried to copy the wires, but some of the colors were wrong, so I still followed instructions from pin to pin, it didn't work, I also broke the chip out of the radio for security, I ended up splicing into the xm for aux cable and put a stock radio back in, I removed the security chip and it works perfectly, when I set xm to channel 0 it is set to aux, I just think the 07+ radio looks so much better 🤷 I drilled a hole in the black trim below the radio for the aux port, and glued it in place, looks really good just overall wanted the other style radio and steering wheel, my 2010 and 2007 both have the Three spoke steering wheel and newer style radio, btw I have the factory amp and the speaker in the trunk pioneer setup

05 and 06 gave a different gmlan system. I don’t think it’s as simple as splicing a few wires.
