Got screwed, Need help:]

Bought an '09 cobalt SS. Mechanics special turned to mechanics nightmare. Undercarriage damage...axles screwed. Tried getting axle out, cracked oil seal case on tranny. Had to pull the transmission and knock it out from the inside. turns out it was friction welded the inside of the bearing race. Oil starvation most likely the cause. Now cant find the correct size axle to put on. Dealer sends one thing and i need another..back and forth for over a year now...still sitting collecting dust while im searching for freakin axles..thats where im at now... ha

i hope you do know that there are different part num. for each side. are you ordering the correct side ??

are you putting the axle in correctly ? are you 100% sure your car is an LNF and not a "sport" ?

what exactly is not the right size ? the axle to trans, or the axle to hub ? or both ?

I need both axels, driver and passenger side. For starters i started with ordering one, with the 20778308... part# and when i went to put it in, the axle to trans fit just fine, the axle to hub didn't. My hub has a bigger opening, so the axle spline diameter is too small... I've been looking and the LNF looks to be the right fit via pictures and such...I asked the dealer if there were any other axles that go with the SS, they simply said no. They didnt even know what LNF was?!

I think you got a LSJ axle instead of a LNF one.

That is my thought now.

OP. I would start buying them from NAPA and see if those fit. At least you can walk back in and return them if they are wrong.

Measure the spline up; that will tell you if it is an LSJ part.

Same spline as a Malibu or G6 and same hub and ABS

Ill throw some up soon as i get some time too. It's just strange because i've ordered multiple times, once from the dealer and a few times from other auto parts stores and it was all the same story..:/
