I think I may have fucked up my brakes trying to change my rear pads. I can't get the piston to go in far enough for the new pads. Any ideas?

Can't get it to turn? Is that the problem?

It turns fine. The piston just won't go in far enough to get the caliper back on. The piston has the contact area, then a large area around the contact area. That large area is flush with the caliper. I don't even think the caliper will fit over the pads if i get the piston farther in though. I double checked that I have the right pads.

I'm sorry, I can't help you...I have rear drums so I don't work on them ever.

I tried the other side and it went like butter. After some more research, the one I'm having trouble with is known to have the problem I'm having. I need to get a tool that compresses and turns it at the same time.

Crazy... A just car flew into the pond a few block from my place. Pretty sure both people are dead, they didnt get pulled out for at least 10min or so... The news is all over the place along with billion police and fire folk.

The fun twisty road that you can take to enter my neighborhood...looked as if they were taking that but headed out of the neighborhood. Must have been going to fast and not running Powell parts...jumped the curb and into the drink they went. Im suspecting TTR rear sway bar did them in

I saw the smoke from a huge house fire this morning. I could see if all the way from Central and 10. It was off East River Rd I think, two exits down from Central.

Where are you at Cuda? My wife works at Cummins and was working this morning for OT and saw a fire across Old Central...same one? She didn't know how far away it was though.

I'm in Circle Pines. I was heading west and saw it. I actually went to go look but it was farther back in a neighborhood and people were evacuating in their cars.

I won't be on Uni tonight since I currently don't have a right rear brake.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand the tool I rented from O'Reilly's does not fit on my pistons. Awesome.

Shoulda given me a call friend! I just did my rear brakes a few weeks ago and ran into the same problem.

I didn't figure out that I needed that special tool until I cracked a C-clamp in half.

I have two special tools and neither of them work. Although I did have an idea that I'm going to go try once I'm fully awake.
