Minnesota chat 2010 ( . )( . )
Sorry, should've mentioned, I am using an impact wrench.
I had the same problem with this exact nut the last time I did this.
Surprisingly I've had no problem with either nut for the top hats this time.
Also tried grabbing it from behind with vice grips, but not working...I'll just spray WD40 on it and let it sit for a little bit...then try heat again later.

did you over tighten it installing it last time? do you have zeus in your hands or something?
make sure you get the torq specs so when you are tightening everything it only goes to spec and not, "tight".

That's always been my problem....we discussed that with the lug nuts...lol. Yeah, I'm starting to do things the right way now. Slowly I'll learn that there is such a thing as too tight.
you mean 147lbs
zeus man
when you set up an appointment with me baby, I'm always on time...rawr
The first dealer didn't even set up my appointment. I would have to wait for 3-4 hours for them to even start. The second dealer had a tech in today that could do it, and they told me to swing on by. When the tech called, the place was closed.
And why did I get an email from you with the subject "francoise clairet"?

OK, forgot to come back and update earlier...I got it all done...the steering rack spacers were a whole lot of fun as well (mainly the driver's side because of the tranny being right there).
Anyway, everything is done, went for quite a drive to test it out and it feels WONDERFUL! Problem is, I have some pretty bad clunking that I know is coming from the struts or springs...what do I need to check? Did I maybe not get the two pieces lined up just right for the top hat on the struts? I didn't double check the struts when I grabbed them, but just to make sure, there's no way to accidentally put the wrong one on the wrong side is there? LOL, just gotta check. I looked at the old vs. new really quick and thought they were the same when I started swapping springs over.
If I take it in for an alignment do you think that will help with clunking or could I have them take it out for a test drive to see what they think before doing the alignment? If something is wrong, I go home and fix it...was planning on returning the spring compressors today but that will wait until I for sure get this figured out.
As far as the sway bar end link goes, I switched the nut with one of the others on the bottom of the strut where the hub and everything bolts on....this time I got the nut for the end link nice and tight. I checked my end links and I don't think they are bad, I think the clunking from before was just the end link not being as tight as it should have been.
Anyway I LOVE THE RIDE, body roll has been reduced SO much. I just wish I knew which component was more to thank or if I have to thank the struts/shocks and Pedders equally?

I'm going to call tom at CED and see if he can get me the seals and install them myself. OR I'll have CED do it during the meet, OR just bring it to a dealer. The only thing installed is the injen charge pipes, shouldnt be a big deal and they are black with no tag's so unless you knew the stock pipes you wouldnt know.
Ion6 I'll go find the tsb, there was a how too as well.

One last thing (I've said it already), but OMFG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love the way it handles...I feel like I could go out and dominate some Auto-X's now. I mean really, I thought my car handled pretty good when I lowered it and then a little better when I did the rear sway, but Jesus Christ, the car turns on a dime and goes EXACTLY where I want it to. I took an on-ramp from Crooked Lake Blvd leaving Boston's Riverdale a little too fast though tonight...forgot how sharp it was and had to crank the wheel...back end starting coming out on me and bumped the curb...but I turned real quick and was pointed the way I wanted to so after letting off the gas and backing off the brakes I was able to just shoot down the on-ramp. Oops. No damage done that I can tell (hit it kind of hard, but the angle I hit it at was the right angle that I just hit the back tire). I think if I didn't have the suspension done and would've done this I would've been at a bad angle and fucked something up.
Thank you FE5 and Pedders...thank you OTTP!
Another thing, just saw this on CL....wondering what you think? Should I do it? I offered the guy to trade trunks with me and I'd pay him some or all of his asking price of $75.
Does the sedan look good with a factory spoiler? http://minneapolis.craigslist.org/an...707233574.html
I've debate it for while, now there's actually someone in my own backyard that's looking to get rid of his spoiler. Hopefully he isn't doing some ghetto spoiler on the car, hopefully he has intentions of filling the holes in, then I think he would be inclined to take me up on the offer.

I keep going back to that...I love the coupes wingless, and I like my car wingless, but once in a while I see a sedan with a spoiler and think "wish I had one".
I think the person just has the spoiler for sale anyway. Only if they were willing to swap trunks and all would I consider going for it.

mike have you seen the sedan specific spoiler? looks way tities.
glad to hear the pedders are worth it. cant wait to put mine in.
speaking of installs I just installed my twm shifter bushings. they defiantly made a difference in shifter feel. Specially I bet for you guys with slightly used cars. Much more direct and solid shifter feel.
check some of these hot wheels out
http://hotwheels.wikia.com/wiki/Speed_Machines_(2010)
some early ones use plastic bodies and look like ass, but most are metal.
This is the spoiler you need mike:
Its the high rise sedan spoiler from GM, looks sweet imo.
