I didn't have high expectation at that dealership though because I have never seen an SS there before.
Dont know which side of Pittsburgh you are on, but if you want to get it done by a dealership i know Kenny Ross on Rt. 30 in North Huntingdon knows how to do it. They did both mine and Steves (Smarty Arty) w/no problems.

I'm on the west side of the city (Crafton) and am in the south hills pretty often (where my parents live). I'm trying to get it done at one of those areas. I am waiting to hear back from Sun Chevy down on route 19. They told me they have done some stage kits but I'm waiting to hear back from the Service manager. I know Crivelli has done some also but they quoted me like $400 for an entire stage install. I am just looking for the flash.

Look into Seretti like Wes said, they did Allen's and to my knowledge he didn't have any issues with them.

Seretti wouldn't be too bad for me. Do you know how much Al paid for just the flash? Al, you around to chime in?

I am going to stick with using the proper tools to get the job done, haha. How did he get the new hub/pulley on without the tool? Getting old one off wouldnt be the problem (I wouldn't think).

Actually we put BJs on with wood and a hammer too. Putting the new hub is actually easier than getting the stock pulley off. But I would use the puller myself, the blower makes a horrible noise everytime you hammer on it.

I'm not sure what they charged Al, I'm sure he will eventually post on here. I didn't know you lived in crafton, fairly close to me.

Ya, I use to live on Mt. Washington, not to far from where Jon is, but moved to Crafton in August. Hoping to move back to Mt. Washington this summer.

And I will stick with a pulley puller. I don't want to see a hammer anywhere near my blower, haha.

On another note, has anyone in the pittsburgh area used a pulley from the one seller, nherbst, on Ebay? I know he is on this forum and Redlineforums every once in a while. I got a 2.9" from him.

Just have to go get the fluid done tomorrow and I'm good to go.
Hmmmmm ALOT of GM Cars that have 4Wdiscs are like Our Cobalts. You can pick up the proper tool for compressing the rears @ Autosupermarket and many other places. Looks like a box kite.

I'm picking a new one up this week, as well as a front piston compressor.

So...since I didn't look... Alicia, did you use the fluid or no??? I ask becuase if not.. I will be needing it in less than a month.

Where in Crafton you at??? That's where 90% of my family lives and I'm there quite often. My car is usually found on W. Steuben down by the park...

This may seem really stupid of me... but cant he just get the reflash "tune" off of my car, and then we put it on his?

Right off of Steuben basically. Left at the light by St Phillips church (Crennell) and right on Broadhead. I see a red SS/SC around Crafton a good bit. Don't think its anyone on here.

I will be. Letting someone else do the fluid change since it can't be mixed and the clutch has to be flushed and refilled as well. Should be done Tuesday. I'm GUESSING it will only take one bottle, but that might be a bit conservative, I'll let you know when I'm done and I'll give ya the money for what I use.

Woot. EBC Reds and cross-drilled/slotted rotors are on the way. Stainless steel lines that *supposedly* have all of the lines will come next week. At least my brakes will be done for summer now.

How did everyone else fair on the factory brakes? Mine made it to 24000 miles.

40k for me, including 6 auto-x events and 2 track days. I really can't complain about them. If the HPS pads and Raybestos rotors don't work as well as planned, I may go back to the OEM setup with just synthetic fluid.

LMAO on a side note...just went into the lunch room to get another Pepsi...and in the fridge is a PetCo bag. Now, granted, it might be something normal an nutritious....but it's just a little disturbing to look in the employee fridge and see a PetCo bag...

Im @ 11100 right now and mine are getting symetrical grooves. Like instead of the brake pads being smooth when they contact the rotor - its like they have valleys and peaks in them. I get no feed back through the steering wheel tho so i guess thats good. Rear ones seem fine and look almost brand new.

It would appear that way. Either that or there's a pet at home that got a damn good lunch and someone here that's going to be less than thrilled with their dining option. I am going to decline to investigate further.

I can't really say what I got out of mine....

I think @ 28K I had them put new rotors and pads up front, and resurfaced the back a few times...

I replaced all 4 wheels ( pads ) @ 35K and now at 56K I still have the original rotors @ back and 2nd ones up front.

The stoptech rotors ( OEM Style and size ) will be purchased in the next 2 weeks, and the Satisfied GrandSport pads as well. Depnding on the fluid Alicia uses, and such, I will flush the stuff out as well. Maybe not all done before the 1st Autocross though....

brk_05... I know basically where you are. Between my family on Steuben... I have some on Maxwell and more still over behing the firehall on Noblestown.

Speaking of which... I could really go for a burger from Blinky's right now....

Sonic?!?!?! WHERE??????????????

Last time I had a midnight craving for Sonic we found out it was like 150 miles away, LOL.

At one time there was SUPPOSED to be one coming to the Waterfront. I can assure everyone it's not there. Nor is it in Robinson or Monroeville. If it's someplace else in Pittsburgh, I'm up for a drive.

I read in the Trib about a month ago that one was opening in the Pittsburgh area. They also said that there are more scheduled to open by next summer. I have no freakin' clue why they haven't always been here. Maybe they just realized that we EAT food in PA, too.LOL. We had a Popeye's out here for about 3 months and they bombed, but Sonic would kick ass.

Yeah, there's two Popeye's by me that kick ass and another one in North Versailles that just sucks.

I like Sonic, especially their drinks. There used to be one real close to my house in Houston, there's one even closer to my mom's house in Austin. They got me hooked then I moved back up here and still NOTHING. Plus they play those damn commercials on TV here ALL THE TIME.

Quick online search:

GOOD: There's going to be about a dozen Sonic's in the area between Washington, Greene, Fayette, Westmoreland, Indiana and Allegheny counties as well West Virginia.

BAD: None are open yet and no word on where the first one will be

UGLY: The article I found (http://www.bizjournals.com/pittsburg...tml?from_rss=1) says they're not even going to start BUILDING until this summer.

I just checked their site. There's one in Ephrata, Pa. 223 miles from greensburg. 1 in WV and 7 in Ohio. But, good ole' Texas has over 800 franchises. Why do they bother playing the commercials. We are considered a "developing area" according to their map. I ate at one in S.C. about 5 years ago, and I've been craving it ever since. Guess, I'll have to stick w/ Burger King until they open something around here. That sucks!!!

Ahhh... gauges are in the car. They look good. I have to play with the LEDs though. They aren't dispersing the light as evenly as I'd like. But here are some rough pics to give you an idea:

Before
Empty Cluster with LEDs in
LEDs lit up
New overlay
My entire setup

Note the last picture... you can see the uneven light from the LEDs. Also, I'd like to fix it so the light doesn't come out from the base of the needles at all. I'm done messing with them for the day though. I'll fix them tomorrow.
