I had those custom made by speedhut.com. They matched the colors, lighting, and font that i wanted. Then I sent them the Cobalt SS logo that's on there. They were really good to deal with.

Dan, Dave, and I are heading out lookin' out for some "PREY". We're goin' to Primanti's for some food and beer after. If anybody's out, give us a call. Our #'s are on here somewhere.

Dan P>..... YOU ARE the man...

That looks AWESOME. I had talked about doing that once I saw some LED work on some Cobalts in the footwells and such, thinking that those would be great as a replacement for the bulbs...

1) How long did it take for the LED swap?

2) $$$?

3) If I wanted to do this, could you help me so I learned how to??

Well I bought the overlay from BlackCat Custom. I was very lazy and bought the LED conversion kit for the cluster just because they mentioned it and it sounded nice. Well... turns out that I could've done just as good of a job making the "kit". I'm somewhat of a LED expert just from building circuits in college for classes.

The overlay was $80. We could do the LED swap for cost of parts at the local RadioShack... I'd say less than $10-15. The install took me about an hour. I'd be more than willing to help you.

Yeah, I'm not interested in the overlay, as I acutally like the faces of the SS guages, but I DO like the brighter LED look of Hondas and such, so that's what I'm going for.

Would we be able to do the boost guage as well??

Maybe one of these weekends, we can get that done. Thanks

Hmmm... boost gauge might be harder... but I think we could manage. We can definitely do your instrument panel though.

Ohhh OK... I thought you did you guages in the pod as well. Then again, I'm thinking of doing a pillar upgrade this summer, so maybe I'll hold off on those for now.

THink I'm going with the Cobalt Series...

No, those gauges are all custom. They're EL-glow.

Some days are better than others on here I guess. Anyway, the Pens won...again. Crosby 1G 1A. Up to 113 pts. on the season. Pretty good for a 19 yr. old.

Well I would really look into powdercoating them. Ask Dave, Dan P. and the rest about that. They have painted theirs, and If I remember right, they had issues with certain wheel cleaners staining the paint. So between touch up and looks and such, you might think twice about it.

The downside is taht you would need to have the car down for a while.

just my 2 cents.

Yeah, well the nice thing about powdercoating is that there are tons of colors out there, and if you have an old electric oven, you can buy the kit and DIY.

Eastwood_dot_com has the kit.

Mine are red and they look pretty good. Overdue for a touch-up but that's coming in the next couple weeks. I've never had any problems with the paint on mine, I use Maguire's Hot Rims (it's hot pink, so just prepare your masculinity for that now...you WILL have to purchase something hot pink) but it does an awesome job of cleaning them and I've never had issues with staining or fading the paint.
