Hey Brian, what time did you want to do TJs tonight? Depending on what time, I should be good to go.

Since you're mostly running in DSP, it wouldn't affect you, but if you chose to run STX, it might since you have the rear lower one.

Anyway... might have somewhat of a cheering section on Sunday if all goes well. One of them is coming out to see if she might want to try her hand at it.
No, I'd still be affected. They said the ST and SP classes both. I was reading the thread on Race PA about it. They need another clarification or standard for determining legal STBs vs illegal STBs. I really don't think anyone would protest over the DC sports bar I have and the Honda guys who actually DO have illegal bars need them for mechanical reasons. I just think they put themselves into a big ass mess with the whole thing.

I might actually be out on Sunday. Not sure yet. I'd have to run STX cause I REALLY don't think it's going to be warm enough for the r-comps to be affected. Although NP lets you do warm-up laps so we'll see. Cool about the cheering section as well.

Dan, ( and anyone else that is wanting wings )

I will be there between 7:30 and 7:45. Wings don't "start" until 8, but usually can get the order in by then.

Alicia, I'm not sure what the heck I'm running now.... It's only supposed to be 45 for a high that day and a chance of rain... ICK! If that is the case, I might run the new wheels and tires. Doubt Scott will protest the wheel size, and if so... f-it.

I might still run the r-comps if for no other reason but to scuff them and get a heat cycle.. not a real one.. but better than nothing...

Also waiting to see what this big deal is @ mr. Ham's suby about the STI....

IMO, you're going to have major, major issues with the r-comps between the temps and the fact that they're not heat cycled yet. I don't think you'd damage them, I just think you're going to be going for a nice, slick, drift-style ride. R-comps DO NOT like the cold at all.

Yeah, that's what I was figureing as well. I will wait and see what the weather is going to be like and play it by ear. If it's going to stay in the 40's, then the new wheels and tires will get used.

Yeah, the general rule when I first got my r-comps I was told is ideally you want temps in or near at LEAST the 60s. And/or run as late as possible to allow more time for the track to warm up. So say I normally ran #72, I might run #272 at NP. BeaveRun obviously you can't do much.

Yeah, That's about the only "plus" I see @ NP. I hate the way they run things there as far as WHEN you run. I like some downtime.

I am leaning towards running the street tires that day and praying.

@ the SCR events.... Scott and I are all signed up for all the events, but 1. He won't be there on Mother's day, so that's where I jump in the lead and keep it...lol

Never know... I might beat him fair and square at an event this year...

State College is run the same way - you sign up for your run group at the beginning of the day and all your runs get in at once.

If you're really that worried about a protest, run my Neros and I'll either run the r-comps since mine are already heat cycled or I'll swap you wheels and tires.

I'm not worried about a protest. In that cold weather and if it's a little slippy out there, Scott will be faster anyways. No one is even going to look I think.

I'll check out the pics.

BJ... sorry... no co-drives in the car at this point. Maybe later on @ BR. I told George he could do one. Why don't you run your dad's Z06 or something??

my one "cousin" might get to drive mine later in the year if she gets into it. I told her that she could if she wanted to try it out. We'll see.

Well, as of last night I'm running the stock 15's and Continentals again. I was on my way home at about 7, got to the 136 exit and the car felt like it wanted to drift slightly left... no noise, no vibration, nothing alarming, just felt like the alignment was slightly out from hitting a pothole or something. I'm only 2 exits from there so I kept driving... took the Cedar St. exit normally, didn't feel out-of-whack making that turn. Pulled into my garage to the sound of air hissing out of my left-front tire. It was nearly flat and the sidewall was pretty-well scuffed-up. I didn't want to run the donut to/from Pittsburgh so I jacked her up and switched the 15's back on (glad I didn't sell them now!!). I couldn't tell what happened to the tire; looked it over and couldn't see anything in it. I'll have to run it to a tire-shop one of these days and see if it can be saved, or if it's hosed...

I'm thinking I might just leave the Conti's on for now; if I'm going to be running as many miles as I am I'd rather wear-out the 'cheap' tires anyway. They're not the greatest but they're not that bad either, good enough for everyday driving. Just can't get used to looking at my car sitting on those little roller-skate wheels though...
