OK..... wow...

1) Jay.. I don't vote. The R32 isn't a "sweet" car by any means, but it's competitive in D-stock and trophied @ nats last year.

2) Trap speeds for the cars I'm looking into mean nothing to me. I'm not looking for a stoplight bandit or 1/4 mile screamer.

3) I will go for a Z06 if I'm going the Vette route. The FRC is nice, but not as good as the Z in stock form. I have no desires to run in other classes since that gets out of hand very quickly.

3) STI/EVO... yep... the cars a bit over the top, but the new one promise to be quieter looking and you cannot argue the track record of those cars.

4) The Elise is more in the $$ ballpark for me and I can get in and out and put a helmet on ( providing it don't rain .... )

I don't think I could EVER resist the temptation to keep a V-dub stock. The way those suckers respond to being chipped is insane. My friend Chris had a GTI and a chip made a night and day difference with it. I cringe to think what his S4 will do once he has that chipped. I also notice you didn't comment on the toilet paper issue. I will leave it at that and make a mental note to not talk about excessive TP usage around you.

Hehehehe, I get the same thing from people. My standard answer is "at the start/finish line or the end of the front stretch???"

And either one can be "toned down" quite nicely for more of a sleeper look. But then again sleeper look takes you out of stock class.

How much do those run used???? I've ALWAYS wanted one, that's like my dream track car.

 

Well, I didn't feel the TP comment needed any response. Since I don't vote...

I really need to start doing some serious reseasrch on the vehicles I am thinking about.

Nats this year will be where I see what the cars do ( except EVO/STI since they aren't out yet... ).

The Elises I've seen used have had LOW miles, and 2 yr old ones are in the low-mid 30's. But they have 6K miles on them, so it's like they're new.

An Elise took 1st in S-stock this year, and the rest were mostly C5 Z06's and a 911 GT3 or 2.

As long as I can get the SS paid down a bit before Feb... $$ isn't going to be an issue.

Might have to invest in a tire trailer for the Vette, GXP, or Elise though....

No... I know it's all in good fun. I'm getting fairly serious about Auto-X and while my car COULD be a sleeper car for D-stock, without the LSD in it, I'm just spinning my wheels. The $$ of upgrading it and keeping it DS legal is a bit much, and I can't get something else until the winter, and the 07's will be gone by then.

So... on to a different car for me.

Just not sure what I'll go with.

Normally if you see a blue SS/SC in that area it's me cause I live 2 blocks off Ardmore, but on a weekday at that time I'm always at work.

I know there's other SS/SCs in the area, but they're all Arrival Blue like mine (which I'm realizing you've never seen).

 

Haha... that was me. I was trying to see through your tint to see if I recognized you. I thought it looked like you though. You have to understand that when I see a GTO, my head turns up to 180 degrees to follow it.

I saw you yesterday on the way home, Matt... I think getting on the pike @ about 3:30 or so.

I just talked to Ed ( SRT4 ) and his car is going to be back next week. They dynoed the car @ 438WHP but had rough running below 2500RPMs, so they put different injectors in and now it's running stronger. Dyno shop is not available until Monday, so Ed put up a big stink about it saying it HAD TO be back this weekend, so they said they're going to deliver the car to him once it's done for free.
