That's ******* crazy. Down here by the shore, we got nothing but an assload of rain. I bet the 60 degree weather will take care of all that ice. It's been warm as hell lately.

i'm up on the mountain, literally, so the weather is always a little different here. you have to go DOWN the hill to get to the ski slopes to give you an idea.

today it's pretty warm though, about 99% of the ice is gone, there's nothing on the trees anymore and the ones that are not broken are starting to stand back up.

on average it's about 10-15 degrees colder here than it is in surrounding areas. which is great in the summer to not have the blistering heat. i like it a little cooler.

Those trees that are still standing remind me of Niagara Falls because of all the mist...

Insurance companies wont be making their money this week....

yea, i wish it wasn't raining so much throughout the day, i would have taken so much more video. but with the expensive ass camera i'm not about to get it wet

all the pics and vids i've seen just don't do it justice.

my boy mikes power just came on yesterday, was out since thursday. mine came back on sunday. there's still people on my block running generators though.

i live in highland lakes, some some of the nj/ny/pa guys may have seen it on the news. It was on all day on chanel 12, don't know abotu the other channels. We just got out power back today, it's been out since thursday. It was raining and freezing so quickly that all of the trees got weighed down to the point that they were just snapping. I have 40 foot trees that the tops are touching the ground right now, but they're not broken. Whole town lost power, my neighbor still doesn't have any. Crazy, crazy ****. I took about 60 pictures, and will be uploading them once I get my camera back, also took a video which i'll try to get up tonight. I had about 15 or so trees down on my property, and had to pull on the front lawn so my car didn't get hit. surely, a huge tree broke at the stump and fell right across where me and steph park our cars.

thursday night, we were outside the garage until about 3am when we were just too exhausted to watch anymore, but literally the trees were coming down everywhere non stop. Sounds like glass breaking because they were so covered with ice. the ice was about an inch thick around every branch and twig. to put it into perspective, a small branch that weighs maybe 5 pounds or so normally was too heavy to carry, had to be dragged.

i know it was all over the news, but it's one of those things that the news doesn't do justice. amazing how the peple just came together with their chainsaws and worked as a team. we cleared out the whole street, moved the downed power lines, it was pretty cool. the kicker is that if you drive 5 minutes away, it's like nothing happened.

busted my ass all day today cutting the trees down and clearing the yard. won't have to buy wood next year

pics will be up when i get my camera back.
This happens all the time in Canada(my home) just last week when it hit -30F(yes -30F and -40F with windchill) i saw some power lines flashing every few minutes because of trees touching the lines. The city is usually pretty quick to deal with it and I have not experienced any loss of power yet. But then again, in a city of over 1million ppl u'd have to expect the city would be on top of it..........different story when it's a small town

our town was pretty quick to deal with it. but there was about 4,000 houses without power, and lines down everywhere. they had 20 crews working on it. and now it's snowing like hell again
