Firemen, Post Pics of your Trucks
Well im trying to get a job with the Forest Service as a seasonal so if i do i will have to post pics or their Engine. I already have my S130, S190, & ICS 100 certs so its a matter of time before i get picked up.
Yup....refinery fires are a completely different beast and can be extremely dangerous. Not saying a house fire or building fire isn't dangerous....we just have other things to think about when fighting oil/gas fires.
Cops tend to let you get out of stuff. I got pulled over for doing 55 in a 25 down the shore in March at like 11pm, no one was on the streets other than me and the cop who was hiding and he was talking to me about the FD and I just got a seatbelt violation (like $42 instead of $300 and 3 points or something). I've been pulled over for my tint 4 times and I've only gotten warnings. I just keep my badge with me in my wallet so whenever they ask for my license they see it. Other cool stuff is like if we're all out to dinner on a duty crew wearing our fire shirts, we'll get free food or big discounts sometimes. But the best thing hands-down is the respect you get from people for it. Especially being 19, everyone thinks I'm just "some punk kid" but when they find out I'm a firefighter they give me a whole new level of respect. There's a ton of awesome stuff with being a FF. And best of all you get to look cool wearing the gear and ride around on big red shiny trucks haha
