Here's the comparrison I did on the boards FOREVER ago...

As you can see...they are almost reversed in their style. I think it would be a pain in the ass to retrofit those. But it would be awesome.

I will be using Denso Slimline's for my ballasts. These are very thin so they will be easy to mount and keep out of the way.

As for bulbs I will be using 4300K Philips 85122 D2S bulbs.

D2S = Xenon Projector lamps
D2R = Xenon Reflector lamps

The actual difference between the two is that the D2S bulb is brighter.

Mercury, those ballast that you just showed, the wires dont look like anything special. Werent you saying thats why the plug and plays are bad? Looks about the same, except the one to the bulb, or is that the one you are talking about. I'm new to hid's, I don't even have any. Waiting for projectors and or something to make my car go fast lol.

Uhh, a wire is a wire...... I am saying you can't hook a ballast up directly to your stock headlight wiring.....

There are also other reasons that I have mentioned as to why plug and play kits are bad.

You can if they have a relay built in ad they take the power directly from the battery..

Actually the difference between the two is that the D2R has a painted portion on the glass capsule to help reduce glare but technically they are the same exact bulb. The other difference is that the D2R has the ntoches different.

And for everybody who actually respects what I am doing, I should be mounting the projectors in this week.

You should. They come with D2S bulbs. They are meant for use with projectors. Notice how I used the word "retrofit". Nope, only you know what you are talking about though .

Mounted and aimed!

The projectors are now fit into both reflectors and very nicely at that. Each projector is held in with 3 spring loaded bolts.

Here is a shot of my naked headlamps

Everything is coming along pretty well, should have this done by the weekend!

That looks pretty good. Hopefully you are making something to cover the unfinshed sides of the projector.
