does anyone on here have cams on an 07 2.2? I know i have to get the intake cam machined and press the cam sensor on but i'm wondering if this can be done at any reputable machine shop or if it would be better to ship it to bates since they've done it before

I would say bates to make sure it's done right...
But the hardest part is just getting ahold of them.

prepare to switch the harness tail light to headlight.then you need a tech 2 to reprogram the bcm and do a relearn on the lsj ecu.To much work.Build the **** out of your current engine, turbo it,tune it and call it good.It will be cheaper.

If you lsj swapped and went standalone, couldn't you keep the stock bcm and body harness? Just a thought

The BCM and ECM communicate.I don't think a standalone can communicate with BCM's and it will throw a BCM code for "lost communication with ECM" Or "ECM lost comunication with ECM".Everything talks to everything. Why do you think a tech 2 is needed if you replace your stock stereo with another stock stereo?I could be wrong as I don't care for standalone since I'm not building a true race car that will need a stand alone.

And build is at hault right now since I'm working my ass off.I get off early tomorrow so I will finish the head and try to get to the bottom end and I have sunday off so a full day there. We will see how far I get as I am doing this with no help. All by myself.

You could leave the stock ecu in there, just not have it run the motor... Would that code even cause real problems anyways? Btw I'm no expert on this either. Just throwing some ideas out there.

If it throws that code(s) it pops the MIL(CEL for others) which you won't pass "inspection" or emissions which is all we have here.

We have that here too, but there are ways around it if the car would run i honestly wouldnt have a problem with the light being on.
