LAP bottom end is the same as the L61.

I think theres very slight difference in the bottom end. I know the y did something with the rings on the piston, but that's all I remember off the top of my head

From what i remember nothing significant changed with the LAP except the head and Gen II block. The rod length, bore, and piston height didnt change. It wont be any different than ripping into a L61.

Correct. No one has been able to unlock the VVT cam phasing tables yet.I've seen it done on the LNF,but as we all know,LNF ecu is different then the LAP.

Did a 2nd to 4th gear pull,WOT only revving to 5000rpm.Its pulling incredibly hard.150 more miles and a oil change and she's good to go.New E85 tune and winter time is going to be fun,but I sense a disturbance in the force about my clutch committing suicide then lol.its holding strong now,we'll see after the tune and then drop to a 2.7 depending on the clutch.I want to see what I can pull out of the 2.9 though

If someone can unlock the VVT for the LAP that should open up a lot of possibilities for us, correct?

Your feeling your tune. Maybe your valve phasing was diddled with in very minor ways, but nothing like the full unlocked tables like the lnf. I've yet to see any one get real aggressive with the lap's vvt.VTEC!!!!!!!!!!!!!
