wasn't aware that you could damage #5 on a 4 cylinder motor lol. Must be some kinda crazy new setup. however slobalt rider would probably be pretty safe on his #4 and #2 bets
Either way, its not a piston unless it broke in half. I drove my car for 6 months with a cracked #4 piston. That **** popped a sleeve.

I know, i'm just saying. Be mindful, thats all. You should be good, but down here in the heat, these pumps don't seem to last all that long.
My mistake, I misread his original post and thought it said #5. Based on his silly dollar amount, I assumed the whole post was a joke, so I didn't look at it carefully.

because every symptom king's car has, joe's car had when it cracked the sleeve and blew the headgasket
I've also seen the cars blow out a dipstick on a perfectly healthy engine, several times in fact. I don't doubt that a spike in cyl pressure could have overwhelmed the PCV system, but the fact that the car actually died, pumped smoke out the back and all that good stuff, is indicative of a far more serious failure than just a cracked piston.
Hell, i've driven a Cobalt around with 3 cracked pistons, comp test was 180-40-120-60. Car still drove fairly ok.
I wish there was a market for a used Cometic LSJ gasket that only has about 5000 miles on it, I paid $100 for that bitch too.

Because I've had both happen to my car. Like I said, unless the piston split in half, just cracking a piston wont' make the car undrivable, and won't result in the huge amount of smoke out the back.

Could the sleeve be cracked, yes, but I don't think it is.
hard to tell there was oil all over the place. The oil fill smelled like dexcool
wow very very depressing... did the same thing last summer... on the highway at 110mph she just went boom! dumpe dout more smoke then that and looked up the front tires!
