AC vents stuck

This is a weird problem. All of my Cobalt's AC vents are really, really hard to adjust horizontally. You can't adjust them by turning the dial on the vent, though you can get them to move by sticking a key or a pen or something into the vent and pushing the flap that way. And when you do so, the dial will move. But you can't turn them with the dial. Has anyone else run into this?

Mine are the same! very hard if not impossible to move with the AC on when the plastic is cold but very easy to move in the winter when the heat is on and the plastic is warm.
