am i screwed
friday i am at work on break and its poring rain and my crew is noticing that cars are getting stuck in the giant puddles so we decided to go check on our cars parked in the parking lot well everyone was fine they had trucks they were fine. But i had 2 to 3 inchs on my floor board so i have to push my car a good 100 yards in about 2 feet of water get it out of the lake and the car wont start get it towed home $140. how much more is the going to cost me am i going to have to get the interior redone do to mold? im just flipping out bc/ i cant get no answers tell monday let me know what you think.
If your gonna attemp to start it,remove the spark plugs first. That will blow all the water out that the air filter may have sucked in(make sure you remove the fuel pump fuse first). The water wont just go away if u let it sit for a week. You should also change your air filter, and it wont be a bad idea to change your oil and filter. As for the water in the car, remove the seats, center console etc,and lift the carpet and let it air dry.You should be good.
Pull the carpet up and run fans under it and get it into a heated dry space.
Check engine for water in it.
Did it turn over when you tried to start it?
thanks every one did call insurance first they told me its going to be a complet loss over the phone. but when the claim ajuster came out and took a look at the car there going to price and see if the price to fix it is cost effective
