Bad MAF?

Are there any signs of a MAF sensor thats on its way out? The other day a little 10amp mini fuse in the engine bay fuse panel that is labled "INJ", popped. Threw about 6 codes, no MAF readings on the scans, full on OL.

ever since I replaced it my AFR has been outta whack. W0T will go lean on one run, and rich the next. about a full point in error. (varies from 11.0 to 12.1 on the wideband)

I just checked and the MAF sensor is clean and seated properly. Any Thoughts?

My expierence in the past with bad maf's is the car will start and stall right out.
Also will throw a CE code.( This is what happen to my 86 corvette)

If your car does start and stall out right away , one thing you can do to test MAF sensor is to unplug the wires to Maf and car shouldnt stall right out(may run crappy) then the problem would be the Maf or wiring (but I doubt its a wiring problem).

Did you try cleaning the Maf (only use electrical cleaner) if you do try to clean it?
It came be bought at Radio Shack( use to clean PCB board )
Good luck

yeah a few months ago I bought CRC mass airflow cleaner and sprayed it off. ran good for a long time.

I am just trying to find an easy scapegoat for my problems in hopes of avoiding more invasive, costly, repairs.

Oh my jeeze.....let the tards find out you use "Electrical Parts" cleaner on something electrical, they say only use MAF cleaner....like it makes a difference.

Well when I had my AEM DryFlow when it kept sucking moisture it would sputter bad at low RPMs. It will throw a code, and as for a new sensor I had to buy one and it ran me $110 they don't play with those things. I usually clean my filter and spray the sensor off every oil change.

And as for the IGN fuse being popped that's like the back bone for the components. Is the inside of your engine bay real wet at all? Or have you installed any gauges?

If u have oiled performance filters...very likely to set codes and shitty running...try putting it back to stock if u still have all the parts. Always a good thing to keep what u replaced as a tester for diagnostics for anything u do to the car.

yes i know theres nothing different about the maf vs electrical parts cleaner. i was at autozone and picked it up. had i been at a radioshack i might have gotten the other stuff. Just as long as its not carb cleaner or TB cleaner.

I am running a K&N air filter... but its been on for 20k miles, maf cleaned about 3k ago. before i installed the kn i wiped the excess oil off, and havent touched the filter since then

after tonight im pretty sure the problem is in my tune. i has fuckies in my fueling tables.
