Bad vibes

Well it feels like the motor is sitting on the frame. I checked the mounts and they seem ok but sloppy.

I backed out of the drive one morning and took off forward and something happened car got louder sounding but its not exhaust. can feel vibs in steering wheel and floor. No specific rpm range or anything.

I ust replaced my roll pin and looked at the rear mount....way to soft for this car.
Is this the problem or is this a major issue. engine internals etc.

talking to you today and knowing the mileage on the car and still a stock clutch, maybe its the clutch giving up. Does the vibration change clutch in/out?

Just checked the clutch no difference except the throwout.
Lifted engine while it was still mounted no difference but I am not getting much movement up or down.

Car kind of feels like I have stiff mounts in it already.

Ok so after replacing the roll pin I took it for a test drive and all is well with the trans and shifting, no bad syncros ...yea!!! But the vibrations got much more noticeable after putting it back together. I did remove two of the 4 mounts. The rear of the tranny(passenger side) and the front tranny mount( one of two connected to the bellhousing area at the front of car). I think tomorrow I will go through the motor mounts with Mr. Powell's tourqe sequence tomorrow.

A little more info the car has 120,000mi on it. two years of 2 x a month track abuse. Plus a few SCCA PDX.
All parts are original including the clutch.

Sounds like your engine shifted while you had the mounts out, there is a how-to on trans mount install might check it out pretty sure Powell mentions what changes to make if you have additional vibes.
